The Young And The Aimless

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

Looks to me that there were a few common sense issues here.
1. If you take a pic backstage (w/ or w/o permission) do NOT put it anywhere near the internet. If you want to have it near you, put it just on your computer.
2. Doesn't matter what time you get there, if you don't clock in, you're late.
3. I agree that there would have been a reprimand chain on the points issue. I have a feeling there might be a little more to the story there. Also, I may be wrong, but isn't the call in policy 3 in a row w/o a dr's note before you get 1 point?

Not exactly; you get a point as soon as you call in, but if you call in 3 days in a row you only get one point, not 3.Sioban wrote:Looks to me that there were a few common sense issues here.

That's the rule here at WDW, I don't understand the point matrix at DL.Amphigorey wrote:Not exactly; you get a point as soon as you call in, but if you call in 3 days in a row you only get one point, not 3.
Of course, I have certain problems with the matrix at WDW... like the way it doesn't encourage you to try to come back to work as soon as possible, but wait that extra day to make sure. Ugh.
My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

The whole 3 day thing actually got me into trouble my first CP. I had a case of food poisoning and called off one day because I was very sick. I started feeling better that evening so I went into work the following day. It quickly became apparent that I wasn't ready to work in the heat so I ended up having to ROS. I then called in the third day because I realized that I was still not feeling well enough to work. However, because I had come into work the day before what should only have been 1 point became 2. I got sick again the next week (to this day I can't eat Hot Pockets) and that made 3 causing me to get a reprimand. My manager was really surprised and asked me what happened. I explained it. I wish that I could have had that third day on the same point since it was the same illness.

Perhaps that's to make sure you're all good and healthy so you avoid passing your germs to other CMs and causing a departmental mini epidemic? Alot of places would rather sick people took a few days rather than muddle thru and get everyone else sick too.Big Wallaby wrote:Of course, I have certain problems with the matrix at WDW... like the way it doesn't encourage you to try to come back to work as soon as possible, but wait that extra day to make sure. It's basically the same, except it's a point and a half for late and 3 points for calling in, but we still get the 3 days for each call sick and such. I'm assuming that we also have a equally hire number of points before discipline and such. I'm not sure why it's 1 and a half and 3 though, it would seem a lot easier to be 1 and 2, or half and 1 or something.Big Wallaby wrote:That's the rule here at WDW, I don't understand the point matrix at DL.
