I really should see if I can find it first... But I am not going to.

One night, in buses, I was making a run from MK to Pop Century, and I did my normal schtick.

I arrived at Pop Century to applause, and one of the first five people off the bus was a gentleman who told me that I was the funniest person he had ever met that worked for Disney. What a nice comment, I appreciate it. He ran off doing the Gotta-Go Cha-Cha, and I honestly didn't think too much more about it, because I was paying attention to the guests filing off.

The bus was emptying out, and near the end a lady came up and asked about the man mentioned in the previous paragraph. I confirmed I had met him, but he had run off. She informed me that he had had to go to the bathroom, but he had wanted to make sure I heard his opinion of me. I thanked her, probably said something about how I like to entertain, and she came back with something that simply floored me.

"My husband wanted me to let you know that he spent almost eleven years as a Cast Member at Disneyland, as a Jungle Cruise Skipper."

I had a Jungle Cruise skipper of the days of old that thought I was the funniest Cast Member he had ever met. I'd be lying if I said that one compliment didn't make my night, my week, and probably my year. I received many comments during my time on buses, but that is the most memorable.

Cue a diatribe regarding MiMs.

Oh, well. On Monorails, I can do something similar now, for a much smaller audience.

The only thing I really miss on the Safari from buses is being able to make up my own script... and if you talk to anyone who's been aboard my safari in the last two months and has a working knowledge of the script, they'll tell you I spend most of the adventure off script, but I haven't had a manager yet that didn't love it. I use the same facts, worded differently, and a bunch of extra conservation messages that, while not technically approved, show ops and management people have had no problem with what I say or how I say it. Of course, when I am going *too far* in the direction the park was designed to go, I don't think it's possible to get a complaint... except, maybe, from some managers who are no longer with the attraction.

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

Call any vegetable
Call it by name
You've gotta call one today
When you get off the train
Call any vegetable
And the chances are good
The vegetable will respond to you
La La La La
The vegetable will respond to you
La La La La

Call any vegetable
Pick up your phone
Think of a vegetable
Lonely at home
Call any vegetable
And the chances are good
The vegetable will respond to you
La La La La
The vegetable will respond to you
La La La La
Rutabaga, Rutabaga, Rutabaga, Rutabaga, Rutaba...

No one will know
If you don't want to let them know
No one will know
'less it's you that might tell them so
Call and they'll come to you
Smiling and covered with dew
Vegetable dream
Vegetable dream
Vegetable dream of responding to you
Standing there shiny and proud by your side
Holding your joint while the neighbors decide
Why is a vegetable something to hide
TO HIDE, TO HIDE, TO HIDE,...

God Bless America
Land that I love
Call any vegetable
Call it by name
You've gotta call one today
When you get off the train
Call any vegetable
And the chances are good
Oh, that the vegetable will respond to you

And if you are a consenting adult we
want you to call today in Los Angeles,
the number is Richmond 9-6935 , in
Downey it's 347-8932.

Call it direct,
Call it collect,
But call it today.

When I was working at Six Flags Great Adventure, my Area Supervisor called one of the other supervisors (Fred) on the radio and asked for his "20"

He responded that he was in area "4" (which was not too far from where we were.) My supervisor decides to find Fred to talk to him about something.

As we got to area 4, he called Fred again, and asked for his 20. Fred replied I am near the spaceship. So we headed over there and did not see him.

My supervisor called him 4 or 5 more times trying to get his exact location, and didn't get a response. He started to get mad and demanded that he reply with his EXACT location.

So Fred radios back "I am in the third stall to the right, oh and by the way can you bring me some toilet paper ??"

I busted a gut laughing, not only because it was funny, but every supervisor from all departments in the park could hear it on the radio too. I just hope there were no guests within earshot. ;)

Shoot...best radio call I ever heard?

Perilous Plunge....
Boat was filling up with water, the back plate fell off that prevented water from entering the boat's bladder when it hit the run-out. Maintenance said they'll be there when they can (hours at the earliest). Apparently 10 minutes later the boat hit the run-out, and dropped to the bottom of the channel. Guests were up to their chests in cold water.

Over the radio:
Rides 24 to Rides Maint. 10, be advised: Perilous Plunge is Signal 37 Titanic.

You have to understand the craptasticness that is Perilous Plunge to understand the joke, but I nearly fell out of my dispatch chair @ Xcel when I heard the radio call.

RIP Bud Hurlbut.

You will be missed.

On a fairly common basis, Disneyland attraction leads and security and whatnot will call each other asking if a certain ride is up yet. My dream:

"Space 1, is your ride running?"
"Yes, we are one oh-"
"WELL, YOU'D BETTER GO CATCH IT!"

Someday...

"Shrek 4D will have a delayed opening due to lack of staffing. Once again,Shrek 4D will have a delayed opening due to lack of staffing"

"The 3:20 Waterworld show is cancelled due to missing performer, Once again, 3:20 Waterworld show is cancelled due to missing performer"

"4:10 PM Fear Factor Live has be cancelled due to lack of participants"

Let's see probably one of the best.

Radio: Lot's of chatter with people stepping all over one another.
Dispatcher: Everyone turn off your radios and turn them back on when I tell you too.
Medics in the field: "Click" :D:

Any WDW Entertainment person is at least familiar with the radios used to call captains, base, managers, etc. There are many little sounds it can make to alert the person being called, from bleeps to beeps, and most amusingly, a female voice saying - and I quote, "Blah, Blah-Blah, Blah!" (go figure)

We had a bit of greenhorn on her first day as attendant when she was summoned with the familiar (to the rest of us) "Blah-Blah" call. She looked at her radio puzzled, hit the speak button and proceded to blah blah back into the radio. Again it rang with the "Blah, Blah-Blah, Blah" and again, she responded with a comical "blah" telling off of whoever was doing this nutty practical joke. Finally, one of us decided to be nice and explained to her that the blahs she heard were really radio ring tones and that she blah blah blah-ed everyone who held a radio in the entertainment department.
