That's a Gorgeous Blanket! Is that Crocheted or Knitted? I can never tell the difference.

Thank you, Mayonnaise, that's very kind of you to say :o: It's crocheted. I have tried to learn to knit, and I do okay for a few rows but due to my disabilities I just don't have the dexterity to work with two needles and the yarn.

I keep going up hook sizes as my vision gets worse but I'm determined to keep making blankets even if I have to eventually count the stitches with my fingers instead of looking at them to do it.

I asked Jessie's parents in a note if it was okay to send it to her, and they emailed me back right away and gave me the address where they'll be receiving packages while she's in the hospital. It should, if all goes well, be waiting for her when she gets back there to have the surgery.

I only wish there was more I could do for them, one little blanket seems so insignificant with all they're going through. :(

Everyone gives what they can and every little bit counts. Some people have money, some people can only give of time, some people have a talent and can give of the work of their hands.

A blanket is a tangible thing of comfort, a thousand hugs packaged and mailed, for all those times when one is cold, or frightened.

Don't underestimate your contribution.

:)

I used to be able to do a lot more- much bigger scale projects, but my health just won't allow it anymore. I try to do whatever I can, when I can, these days.

Your words describe how I feel about them very eloquently- that's just how I like to think of the blankets I make- hugs available anytime, no waiting :) :) :)

thanks again for the kind words!

That's great Bru! I've been keeping up with the story, and it's amazing how their town continues to be behind them. I wish I could crochet or knit something, but sadly I am domestically challenged.

Thanks! i wish I could take credit for the pattern but it's been around for ages. I have invented patterns in the past myself (hats mostly) but this one isn't one of them. . .but it is my all time favorite blanket to make. They're so cool when they're all wide open, here's one I made with the same pattern for another child:

Patterns are one thing but execution is another. Pretty cool.

Jessie's blanket is finished. I hope to mail it this weekend, or sooner if I can get to the PO before then.

You can't see the whole thing but it's round with twelve points, kind of looks like a flower when its unfolded but I forgot to take the pics before I washed it and I didn't want to spread it all out and risk getting anything on it before I send it.

I will be your guide for this magical journey into the movies. It's the perfect job for me, because I love movies! Is everybody ready? Great, because it's showtime. Ready when you are, CB!
