Front of the line pass?

All right....so I'm working GC at Finding Nemo on Sunday, and I had somebody walk up to me saying they had a front of the line pass.

"I'm sorry, ma'am....but the subs don't have Fastpass...."

She then ROLLS HER EYES at me, mumbles something about "No, not Fastpass..." and pulls out her standard single day park admission ticket and presents it to me.

"I'm sorry...that is just your park admission ticket....every one of those people *gestures to the 80+ minute line extending all the way back past the Matterhorn* has one of those as well..."

And she grumbles and walks off.

This happened 4 times with 4 different groups that day.

So my question is....who spiked the bottled water that day, and why didn't I get any? ;)

First off,

With the truly important part of my job out of the way, I have to ask (not you, mind you) where a guest can possibly pick up the idea that a park admission ticket is a pass to the front of the line. Maybe she got it at a timeshare presentation? You know they'll make wild claims just to get you in the door. I have one friend at work who quit Westgate Resorts because they would claim that Shamu had a secret tunnel from Sea World to the resort she was selling. Of course, the part that makes it disturbing is the percentage of people who believed that line.


My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

But...but....they DON'T have a tunnel? But that was the big selling points for my parents when they got a timeshare through that company! :eek:

Kidding, of course...although they DO have a timeshare through them...they spend a lot of time in TN around the Smoky Mtns. and it was the best bet for them, I guess.

Anyway, thanks for the welcome (think you also got me in the Chihuahua thread)!

And no, before anyone asks....they weren't confusing the tickets and trying to get fastpasses. I am used to Fastpass questions...and I'm the type that tries to clarify and get folks going in the right direction, no matter how foolish the question seems. These groups honestly thought they could tell me their tickets could get them to the front of the line.

The good part of me would like to believe they were confused or misinformed. However, since nobody asked to talk to a lead, or someone in charge, the bad part of me just thinks they were trying to pull a fast one and avoid the insane line.

Sounds like a "No-Strings" pass, but they were showing their tickets? How weird.

Sometimes at the ticket window guest will ask how to get FastPass, or how to add "Front-of-the-line" to a ticket and I quickly tell them, "FastPass is included with every ticket. Turn to page 2 on the park map to learn how to use it." Maybe they assume just by showing their ticket it gets them FP.

Another thought: If they had a No-Strings they assumed they could be used at Nemo. (But then they would be handing you a No-Strings and not a ticket) When we give out No-Strings we write on them "Except for Nemo Subs", or "Not Nemo Subs". Usually the No-Strings is not good at the newest attraction in the park.

Maybe they had a Guest Assistance Pass? Or saw people entering the Guest Assistance Line?

So weird.

No GAC cards, no No Strings, no Re-Admittance (Nemo was 101 for a while on Sat., I guess, so I DID see some of the orange ones). Just plain, everyday tickets. *grins*

What is are "No Strings Attached" or "re-admittance" cards?

From the sounds of it, they seem to be fast-pass-like tickets given to guests whose ride broke down while waiting/riding. If that's true, then I've been gypped quite a few times for Indiana Jones.


Legend: Alligators dwell in the sewers beneath Disneyland.

Truth: There are no sewers below Disneyland, and therefore no alligators in them. The secret tunnels are infested with mutant rats, however.

No strings, don't know much about those. Seen just a handful in the short time I've been there.

Re-admittance we normally hand out if something goes wrong with the attraction...normally to just those in the subs, or getting ready to board. If we gave them to the entire line....there'd just be too many floating around the park! *laughs* Probably go through the entire supply. Take note....I believe the green ones specifically say on them that they are not valid for the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage...something I have to point out quite often when I'm working as Greeter.

When I was on ToT and it went down, they just asked who wanted to reride, scooped us up, and stuck us in the service elevator and made people mad at us upstairs :)

It's all Universal's fault. You pay like an extra 15 bucks and yes, you do get front of the line (no waiting). Apparently, from what I've heard though theirs works a little different from Disney's Fastpass. There's no time limit that you have to wait between attractions.

If I'm wrong, please enlighten me.

Let me splain Lucy...

The Universal Express Pass costs anywhere between 25-50 dollars per park. It puts guests into a smaller line than the regular queue.

There is still a line. If they want NO WAIT AT ALL-Take a VIP tour.
