Re: Job Delimha¿?¿?
My advice
First what do you see yourself doing in 30 years, 10 years, 1 year or 3 months. Do you plan to quit Disney soon or make it a career?
This is the most important thing to ask yourself. Look at the jobs and see which one would be like "OMG, I cannot believe I spent 10 years saying 'how many in your party? row 3, please'" You should be looking at what would move you up in the company or give you bliss. Either you are a happy janitor or the GM for transportation.
Weather and other physical stuff. Do you want to spend most of your time standing like the balloon salesman and the parking lot attendant? Are you going to be happy in the middle of a humid hot day or would you prefer indoors? Do you mind the rain and cold or warm at a desk?
Are you happy as a monorail pilot who does some guest relations or would you be happy spieling on a ride? Do you mind routines like rides operations? Do you hate something like dealing with stupid guests who cannot understand, despite being english speakers all their life, that you need to know how many are in their party.

Doc you are so right. I tried the teaching thing (exceptional education) for 3 years after retiring from 25 years of law enforcement. I had kids in that class who were zombies from the ADD/ADHD medications. I would have prefered to have had the kids bouncing off the walls.Doctor McKey wrote:Ms. Maddorhorn...

Now as for having your cake, don't settle for cake....go find that Key Lime Pie. As for me, I am still trying to decide what I want to be when I grow up.

Just for the record...
I would like the next poster to be very careful in what they say. This is a conversation that I can suddenly imagine spinning wildly out of control. Please, don't let it do such. I don't enjoy using the "Close Thread" feature that comes standard with vBulletin software.
Carry on, but know that Roz is watching... always watching...

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?
Re: Job Delimha¿?¿?
Dr. M - I'll pass on some advice that one of my first Disney trainers gave me, and I've passed on to all my trainees when I myself became a trainer. "This is a job that should be fun. This is a company that should be fun. If this role stops being fun, it's time to move somewhere else in the company, so that you can continue to have fun."
Do I know what the right role is for you? Not a clue. However, i say go for it, pick something, and if you end up not liking your choice, well, you only have to stick with it for 6 months.
(Wallaby -- was this careful enough for you? ;) )

I apologize for going off on you! I guess I just had a really bad day!

"Yes, sir, but the water is fake."

Re: Job Delimha¿?¿?
I can understand that a bad day can control your emotions and effect how you carry yourself either in real life ( IRL ) or online. I have had many of my days controlled by others stupidity and that make the day go longer and even more out of control. I am orry that my pelling, grammer, and sentance structure are lacking what they hould be for a 29 year old high school grad, but then again public chools are turning out more and more kids now adays that have bigger problems then I do. point in cae a florida school sytem i being sued by a man that was pased, graduated, and given his diploma <sp> even though he reads on an 5th grade level and can not do higher forms of math.Ms. Matterhorn wrote:Dr. M:
