Hmm, true, so the cost of the free gas is sending a check for a penny, and it cost you a 34 cent stamp? Unless they send you the prepaid envelopes!!vixen101485 wrote:LOL...hell no! not with the price of stamps and the extra weight. LOL I will collect my bank points TYVM. LOL
I think my grandma did that once to some place. I have a very vague memory of her taping pennies to a letter while at the dining room table. hmmmm
Darn, I just remembered I need to call them on Monday to redeem some of them...Yay! Free gas for me

Re: Car Insurance stupidity
Arent stamps 41 cnet now? Regardless, if I send them mulitple checks in one envelope I am still coming out ahead . I get 25 points for each check. So I would need how many checks for how much each to equal the 11,500 points I need for one gas card ?(I typed it wrong before)..Still oweing them $24.75
Ok if I figured this out right. 460 checks needed. at .05 cents each. Wow that is a lot of checks! Did I do that right? Number problems and I dont get along well.

460 nickles equal $23
35 more will get you to $24.75 (and 875 points toward your next card, lol)

I knew I was doing something wrong. Dont know if my bank would like me very much for doing that tho...LOL I may still play a bit with some really bizarre numbers and mix them up. Let's see... .71 (year WDW opened), my DD's birthday, a holiday or two like Valentines 2.14, etc. and leave them wanting .01 LOL

I used to work as a telephone operator for a college campus, part of my job was opening the mail addressed to the Telecom department, and making sure it got to whoever handled it. and we used to get a 12 cent invoice every month that the person responsible for it, my direct superior refused to pay. It came by first class metered mail each time... 51 cents on the postmark. For 12 cents.

A friend worked in a department that provided services for students. On occasion she'd answer the phone with, "Student Affairs, you want one?"Mayonnaise wrote:I used to work as a telephone operator for a college campus...

Until bricks got expensive, I used to tape bricks to those postage paid reply cards.
Needless to say, I saw a lot less of those when I did that.
