Terms?

I was wondering if there is any number of CMs here that can please tell us stupid folks what certain things mean...or acronyms and such.
Like, I know what ODV is, but what is a ROP and what is the Tower and such...like, can someone list terms of things and what they mean? It'd be much appreciated for us stupid folks.

ROP is Regional Occupation Program, which is a California thing where high school kids or undereducated adults are placed in on the job training programs - when I was 16 I worked at Robinson's Department store in Newport Beach through ROP. They've had ROP kids working in the park in all kinds of capacities, including ride operator (RO), although back in the old days, one had to be a legal adult to be an RO...no big deal - heavy machinery, you're dealing with people's lives while you're hand is over the e-stop in the control tower... (emergency stop button)...

couple of things I can think of off hand - ADO - authorized day off, ER # 1 - early release (from shift), ER # 2 - expanding room (in the Haunted Mansion), bump - changing from job position to job position throughout the rotation on a ride - rotating gets a whole paragraph to itself (someone else)...GC - guest control, queue - line...and of course the nicks for some of the attractions - Bear Band, bore band, snore band = Country Bear Jamboree. Big House = Haunted Mansion. Trash Mtn = Splash. Book = Storybook Land Canal boats. World = Small World. T/Sky, F/Sky = Skyway, Tomorrowland or Fantasyland stations. Tin cans = submarine adventure. Fantasia ride/Orgasmic = Fantasmic.

Thanks to you guys, especiall BirdMom (who've I've come to highly respect on this site)..

I'm more interested in stuff that BirdMom told me, technical terms and such, like employee/CM related...I pretty much know the acronyms/abbrviations of the rides, but thank you very much anyways.

Can someone tell me what a "tower" is?

awww...shucks...

I know Code V is Vomit and Code U is Urine. Does anyone know the security codes? I heard one guy just say "domestic" for a domestic dispute one time. It probably has a number though.

I'd love to know what they say for fires, theft, fights, etc.

I heard from a stores CM at disneyland park that when one cast member in the shop witnesses shoplifting, they will alert the other cast members in the shop to the activity by alerting them that there is a "customer" in the store. This way lots of cast members will be asking the shoplifter if they need help and hopefully they'll put the stolen stuff back.

I know 904 is a fire at disneyland. Code H is crap.

This is what I learned in training but it's kinda faded away from what I've seen since so many new hires call normal guests "customers" now.
