You mean the People Maker? Check with your parents to see if it was involved with you being here. :D:

When I worked at Knott's, the Calico Railroad would get the reputation of being a make-out ride; possibly the Grand Sierra Scenic Railroad in Camp Snoopy. The worst thing I ever cleaned off that train was a dirty diaper, but the engineers on Calico told me they occaisonally would find used feminine hygiene products, used condoms, etc. in the cars. Really sick.

scratch that, PeopleMover was here until 1996.

As for the Knott's Calico Mine Ride.... Yeah, why that's still there boggles my mind.

Who would bring condoms to Disneyland? There must be some pre-meditation there.

Calico Railroad is not the same as the Calico Mine Ride. Calico Railroad is a genuine 1881 Baldwin 2-6-0 locomotive Consolidation C-19; of which only 12 were made, all in 1881. The cars date back almost as far; the gondola car was made from the chassis of an old frieghtcar whose wooden sides had rotted away.

Calico Mine Ride is made up of not so old (mid 1950s) electric mini locos, dudded up to make them look like train locos. Calico Railroad is Knott's second oldest attraction (stagecoach is oldest), the Mine Ride dates back to the early 60s. Both are very popular; as long as guests want to ride them, they keep them.

One tiny correction: Consolidation types have a 2-8-0 wheel arrangement.

Knotts used to have a 2-8-2, but it was too big to round the sharp curves on the line. Last time I was there, I got a ride in the Galloping Goose. Anyone know if it's still on the property?

Thanks for the correction. And yes, I ran the Galloping Goose when I was there. It should still be on property. I live too far from Buena Park to go by the accursed place called Knott's to check.

Yes the Galloping Goose is still at Knott's. We run it during the off-season (usually the fall/winter time) when there is not enough attendance to justify running the Calico train.

One late EMH a couple of Newlyweds were "Riding the Pony" in the greenhouse. Unbeknownst to them I could see them on the cameras and spieled, "For your safety, please refrain from inappropriate activities that can be seen on security cameras. Thank-you!"
I didn't call security on them because there wasn't anyone on the ride who might have been bothered by it, besides our ride is about nature!

Two things...
1. That's a road NO ONE wants to go down with their parents. I did and I am scarred for life.
2. It's also known as the People reMover due the number of fatal incidents on it at DL. LOL!

I have to admit, dying by PeopleMover would be embarrassing. Actually, any of the deaths that have happened in DL in which the victim was walking on the track, jumping cars, etc. is just a terrible and embarrassing way to go.

I know this is grim, but how did the families react to "your son died because he was jumping between slowly moving vehicles"?
