Re: Your Pet Peeves
1.) APs, regulars, or people who know somebody who works at Disney and believes that they therefore know more about the parks than we the CMs do and will try to tell us that we are wrong.
2.) People who do not follow the rules. Especially people who try to cross the ropes during fireworks. Believe it or not the rules (and ropes) are there for your safety.
3.) People who have the I will do whatever I want and everybody else be damned attitude!
4.) People who go into the parks looking to have a bad time. Especially when they ruin others' vacation.
5.) Anybody who ruins or tries to ruin the magic, especially on purpose.
The only one on your list that I do not agree with is parades. Even before I worked entertainment, I loved the parades. Now that I have been a parade performer, I love them even more! (I know, I'm biased)

Re: Your Pet Peeves
i guess i should have elaborated. i do enjoy the parades, but i rarely watch them. it just so happens that the parade is usually right between me and wherever i want to go.
i heard on travel channel that the parade routes were strategically planned so that the park could be divided in half and it would lessen ride lines... which... kind of makes sense... still kind of confused.

Truth: There are no sewers below Disneyland, and therefore no alligators in them. The secret tunnels are infested with mutant rats, however.

- heelies
- stroller as battering ram syndrome
- people who say "autoTOpia" and "Fantasm"
- anyone who starts a conversation with "Hi, I'm an AP,and..."
- CMs who don't follow the Disney Look - large white sunglasses, pants sagging down...
- The fact that not a single person in TDA is expected to follow the Disney Look anymore
- managers that cave every time just to get the guest to go away.

Re: Your Pet Peeves
I agree with many of the above:
*heelies (hate those things with a passion)
*People who ask stupid questions about the characters ("is it hot in there?" and so on)
*People who try to cross under the ropes during the parades
*When people climb on the walls, railings, planters, ect
*When guests start screaming at CMs for things that are not the CMs fault (ride being down, no more FPs, ect)

Re: Your Pet Peeves
My pet peeve:
Sgs who post on SGT! hehehe...
I hate when I hear or see an assinine guest yelling at or chastising a CM who was only doing their job. If said Assinine SG were to get hurt, he/she would be the first to sue Disney, even AFTER being told "You can't do that!"
I really don't like line cutters and people with an *entitled* feeling about themselves. These two situations are usually seen together.
I dislike Parents who do not LISTEN TO or WATCH their kids while the kids are tired, hungry, just downright crabby from all the overstimulation in the Parks and the parents do NOT take them back to the resort for food and a rest. That irks me!
I despise guests who scream in Wallaby's ear! I can get away with screaming at SGs because ...well because they are SGs and doing SG things and deserve a good talking to!
I don't like the way my back hurts when I walk too much at the parks. That's why I will be on wheels this trip. Next trip, I walk!
I dislike people who come to a parade at about 5 minutes before it starts and we are sitting down in front on the curb and the parents of children who come late, tell us we should move and give their kids the seats cause after all, Disney IS for kids, the parades are for kids and we are too tall to be sitting in front. EXCUUUUUUUUSE ME? If I have waited for an hour and half at my place, you are NOT going to get it. Usually they try to put their kids in front of us , but a CM will always tell the kids they cannot sit in the street, pissing off the parents to no end.
Or the ones when you do let a munchkin in front of you, which I have no problem with if they are tiny kids, we always let little ones in front of us and moveback alittle for them, but the parents think that means you are going to let them join their kids and try to take your seats arguing that they don't want to be separated from their kids. Okay. Then take your kid back, YOU are not getting my seat. Your small child will be no problem sitting in front of me, heck I will even have fun with the kid, but you are not going to join them. Plan better next time. Get your seats EARLY like the rest of us did. I am going to be real mad if someone does this to us at Spectro. We missed it last trip and I want to see it well. With scooter and wheelchair parking areas, it is much better at least.
I don't like it when I am in a character line and someone with a child cuts cause they think I am not in line just because I do not have a rugrat with me. When I tell them I am in line and they need to get behind me cause they just cut, (I do this as quietly as possible to the parent so the kid does not hear) they get all huffy and tell me I am too old to be in line for characters and they are not going to move. (Many do move back, there are more thoughtful people at WDW and DL than SGs, really there are.) I usually let that slide but then when someone else comes up looking for the end of the line, if I am it, I tell them I am the end of the line and they need to get behind me!
A big pet peeve, at the sit down shows. People who do NOT move to the end of the row, and you've got to try to squeeze by. I have a good solution for this. I have a problem digesting food properly and quickly which gives my gut some not so nice properties brewing in there being an SG! I end up passing wind *on accident* as I am standing right in fromt of them, my posterier side facing them. Nasty, I know. But it is being anSG to stop in the center of the row.
I also dislike people who come up to a show and hold places. Like at Lion King one person will hold 6 places for people who are not there yet! I am going to sit when and where the CM ponts me to sit, so if that is in a place not CURRENLY being occupied (buit being *saved (by a backpack sitting there, too bad. Saving seats at shows is assinine. They are trying to fill that show and if the people you are waiting on are just meandering along, they may not make the show and it wastes seating. Parties should STAY together when at the door of a show attraction! Not one person up front saving 6 seats in the front row for those who are still coming in from another attraction or eating or whatever, the exception being one parent with one child who HAD to go to the restroom. I am pretty lenient with little ones who cannot hold it like we adults can.
That's it for now, I am sure I have forgotten some, my mind is on lacing this evening to the hotel to sleep in and fly out tomorrow morning for WDW!

I was just thinking, since you have to use an ECV this trip, we should try and find you some "stick on" decorations A'la Ben Hur chariot races!! juts a few spikes would probably make the SG's give you a little room (hehehehe)
I know that there are some people on here that do re-create various times, they could make you some, or know someone that could!!

1) It is not fair to expect someone who has waited for something (parade, fireworks, ect) a looooong time to give up their spot when you come dancing up 10 minutes before it starts. If you really wanted to see it, you would have waited too.

2) I have this happen to me all the time, since I usually go to the parks by myself. I have to speak up and say "excuse me, but I was next". I remember last 4th of July, and I was waiting in line to see Mickey and Minnie at AA. A guy comes up with his little girl and tries to cut the line. We all tell him that there is a line. What did he say? "She's only 4". And your point is? There are other kids waiting their turns in line. He ended up waiting, but kept on making comments.
3) I really HATE this one. Luckily, the CMs have been pretty good about it at the shows I have been to. But still. You can't just save a whole chunk of seats for people who are not even there.

Re: Your Pet Peeves
I totally agree with this one. I remember one time I was standing at DAK ready to watch the parade. A couple came as the first few floats were passing and asked if their kids could sit in front of me. I told them no problem. Well, the parents decided they had to stand with jr. and juniorette. As most of you know, I am pretty short, and I spent the whole parade listening to the music instead of seeing the floats and characters. What really irked me is that CM saw the whole thing and did nothing. I really should have said something, but I didn't want to cause a scene. I really need to stop being so polite!Or the ones when you do let a munchkin in front of you, which I have no problem with if they are tiny kids, we always let little ones in front of us and moveback alittle for them, but the parents think that means you are going to let them join their kids and try to take your seats arguing that they don't want to be separated from their kids.

Re: Your Pet Peeves
Here's another one of mine: Lack of capitalization, grammar, and spelling in a post. Typos are one thing, consistently not capitlizing, improper use of contractions, and frequent misspellings drive me batty. This includes using your instead of you're.
dont you agree that this is much harder on your eyes? you cannot easily see where on sentence stops and another begins. call me an internet snob if you want, but this also makes you seem uneducated and i am liable to skip over your post or not take you seriously.
I also do not like that Disney has honeymoon registries. This is considered the epitome of bad ettiquette, but many people don't realize that. If that's not bad enough, asking complete strangers to contribute is even worse!
