Happy Late 4th

Post by CujoSR » Mon Jul 05, 2004 12:26 am

As the illegal fireworks explode all around me I just hope that everyone had a safe and fun 4th of July!

"A little swordplay, now and then, keeps my mind off sheep!"

"You're messing with my Zen thing, man."

"Dreams are as portals,
flat visions of misty places,
fragments bound below my surface,
but I can write dreams,
they flow from me,
inscribed but now unbound,
I touch them,
and they are real,
and they are real."

^ Haha, I know how its feels with those illegal fireworks. It was a warzone where I lived...People managed to get professional mortar style fireworks (ala Disneyland)...Set off every car alarm in like a 3 block radius every time they shot one.

But overall, all was good. Got to watch my MLS game, and San Jose lost (yay)!

Hope the rest of you had fun too!

RIP Bud Hurlbut.

You will be missed.

I got to spend the night of the 4th in Seattle, in an 11th floor hotel room with a 180 degree view of that city's aerial celebrations.

It was nice, but I kept wondering, "Where's the soundtrack?!?"

When I do pyro, I'm rarely near the p.a. system so I usually don't get to hear the soundtrack, just the shells firing. On the 4th, the p.a. was behind me and across a creek so I could hear little bits in between the shells but not much and that was okay. I heard it in the afternoon and it had a lot of soundbites from different presidents that just seemed to slow things down. Sometimes it's better without the soundtrack. :)
