New Parenting Classes, Direct From The Hitler Institute
Re: New Parenting Classes, Direct From The Hitler Institute
Sadly, it doesn't really surprise me that this went on, although I am very sorry that it did. There are so many people who seem to forget that what they do has an effect on others. I bet that if the kid had been screaming in his dad's ear while dad was the one who was driving, the kid would have been yelled at or punished in some way, but because it was done to a stranger, then it was cute and o.k.
Then there are what I call "Dinney Worl" blinders that come on when people step foot on property. It's the blinders that make people think that everything in the parks is fake, and therefor safe. I bet the dude thought that you were completely on a track and not doing any real driving. Honestly, I wouldn't even be surprised if they thought that every single animal was animatronic (as people did with a 5ft alligator at Coronado a few years back). They don't realize that there is great potential for getting hurt and leave any common sense at home.

I agree with that so much! I have seen the kids in the heat tugging at itchy dresses and pulling on hair extensions and I have to think they'd be much more comfortable in shorts and a t-shirt :( But the mothers are living vicariously thru the children (or in the case of those adults dressing up during non P&P party times. . .living their childhood dreams a bit late when they should throw a costume party at home at Halloween or something for that sort of thing. . .)Truth be told, I tend to think the moms want it more than the girls as I
have seen on more than one occasion, completely disinterested tiny toddlers with full hair and make-up, being pushed around in strollers - dresses arranged around them all nice in a perfect circle- with mommy wearing a matching hair do grinning proudly. A Trophy Baby.

Do you really think it's such a good idea to feed SGs like that to the animals? I mean, wouldn't that constitute animal cruelty on a grand scale? :D:
If they'd done that to me, I would've stopped, gotten out, got into the back with them, and ripped all three of them a new one at the top of my lungs. Then I would've told them to get off and walk the rest of the way. But I would've made sure that I called security, etc., and had them on the way before doing so. And if I got canned, I would make sure to explain very carefully why I did what I did, and ask if which do they prefer--me getting into an accident and harming innocent passengers, as well as myself, or telling the idiots in the only language they understand to knock it off or walk out on their own. And put a call in to my attorney and every newspaper and broadcasting station in existance and tell my side of the story. The pen is mightier than the sword, after all.

the worse part is is anyone says anything to the parents, it's always the same response, "s/he's only a child."
My reply to them is them, "And your only the parent(s) and it's your job to teach them right from wrong."

Yes, it would. Causing a crocodile indigestion would be awful. The worst part is that they are not intelligent enough to understand why they would feel that way. Naw, the animals don't deserve that.felinefan wrote:Do you really think it's such a good idea to feed SGs like that to the animals? My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

Sorry BR, that sucks! I can't believe it when parents not only stand by and do nothing but actually encourage deviant behavior. I do wish you had called security or something, but I also understand the utter shock that precludes any type of action.

I guess I did not put it exactly right. I cited the Springer show because it made me sad that so many people are in these women's place and it does not bode well for their children. There will be children that come from a background such as that, that WILL make it. No doubt! It is just that seeing that and hearing how the people talk on that show, it makes me sad for the country in some ways. I know there are plenty of great people who do care and maybe that will counter balance the bad. I hope. I did not mean that NO one from that background would make it in the world. There will be the fighters for a better life. Sadly tho, many of the children go on to be just like the parents, absentee, on welfare, using drugs and in gangs. :( Not all tho. They will fight for a better future! :)February wrote:Susi, I would respectfully disagree that lack of education in the parents or children is a 'breeding ground' for bad behavior in children. Not everyone gets to have a college education but they may do all they can to be sure their children are well behaved- and well educated.
My father is not a college educated man, but he built a successful business and ran it until retirement, working his butt off so that we could have things like nice Disney vacations as we were growing up. I am not a college graduate though I had scholarship offers for singing (long story) and I was a single mother for awhile after my divorce- I worked some 'comfy' office jobs and some very humble ones- including second-shift cashier at a 24 hour grocery- but my child is VERY well behaved and has been all her life because I raised her to know right from wrong to the best of my ability.
As you said, rudeness comes from all walks.

My dad too made it without much of an education! He went as far as a sophomore in high school and then had to work. That was the way back in the great Depression. He eventually made it as Supervisor of The City of Berkeley Corporation Yard. He HATED it. It was a job where he had to go to meetings with the Board of Sups and he hated it!
He started as a night mechanic and worked there for years and worked up to Night Foreman, then Day foreman and then to the Sup's position! He actually stepped down and went back to being Day Foreman of the City Garage, cause he really liked doing the actual work. He was a born grease monkey!
He loves cars and engines and putting them together. Back when he could still lift an engine or crawl under the chassis of a car, he was the best! He hated pushing paper and dealing with all the politics of the City of Berkeley in the 1960's and 1970's! What a time in Berkeley, hey? He was in charge of fixing all the police cars and city vehicles that got torched or destroyed by the marauding protestors! He was right in the middle of that whole era! On the other side.... ;)
Education can help, but is not neccessary for one to make it in life. They just have to have a lot of strength and will power to get out of that life. Although I would say, that today is different than the years of the depression. Education has become more important in today's world, and even then, you are not guaranteed that you will make it in the world!
I didn't put it correctly in my first post. Kinda confusing...I'm confused...but that is a given! ;)
I had to edit for space, but your post was great! Well said! I do agree that entitlement issues are probably the worst! Parents trying to give the kid everything and then the kid really does want EVERYTHING! Then they don't under stand why the real world does not bend to their every need and want. SPOILED! Good word for it!

LOL! Is good to know that someone says the same thing I tell some guest. The kids may not understand, but you are a grown adult and so you at least should know better.PapaMouse wrote:the worse part is is anyone says anything to the parents, it's always the same response, "s/he's only a child."

BTW, BW that is a terrible thing what happen to you. I have serious migraine problems so I would have had to redirect the car so I could stop it. It would have loved to know how the other guest reacted to this people. Some guest get really pissed.

I will be your guide for this magical journey into the movies. It's the perfect job for me, because I love movies! Is everybody ready? Great, because it's showtime. Ready when you are, CB!

I don't get parents like that, I just don't. My youngest is a handful and a half, she's a shrieker -always has been and it annoys the crap out of me. But her her head will be removed before she gets disturb that many people around her or cause someone else pain like that.
