Official SGT ADD thread

A place to be entertained. Videos, jokes, games, and more.
Forum rules
At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.

Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

Yep! It was an interesting place to live! Weird and fun and somehow annoying all at the same time. Going down Telelgraph was an experience. They still ahve all the sidewalk vendors on the weekend, but the mood is a little different. It has gotten more mean and gangs come around more aften.
When we were there, The Naked People would always make their trek down the street on weekends. The tourists were blown away! It was a regular thing to see them, though most people wished they would cover up, cause old Hippy bodies are just not that fun to look at! Ugh!

I am glad we don't live there anymore, but I miss the restaurants. That city is one of the best places on earth to get great food. To this day, we always make a side trip to Berkeley just to eat lunch and dinner up on College Ave.
Yep, I miss the restaurants! :(

Telly was an interesting street to walk but things did go downhill. I remember The Naked Guy wandering around. One of the TV stations sent a camera crew out to interview him and his two female roommates. The interviewer seemed kinda stressed and rushed through the segment. It turned out The Naked People not only avoided wearing clothes, they avoided showers too.

A LOT of ADD on this thread today! :D:
No SGT meetups for me today, so I'll have to go to Florida to harass them!

Did meet a CM named Johnny who was familiar with SGT and had a "Check your brain at the gate" sticker or pin or something at home :p: (He was explaining how to NOT be a SG while trading pins with CMs ;)

Also met a nice CM named Devin who likes Stitch Pins :) :stitch:

Had a great day, just awfully hot and lots of attractions down(did someone trip over the plug to Adventureland?)

Loved Billy Hill and the Hillbillies! :D:

Hey!! You made it through a day there!! COOL!!!

Any SG's? or were people behaving?

You know, the mere mention that an SGT member is in the park SHOULD make the SG's tremble in fear!!

Even worse. An SGTer with a camera. Now that should make the SGs nervous. A report of an SG in text still leaves the SG a feeling of annonimity. But an SG report with photos...... :D:

Yep, that made them even more repulsive to be around. I don't want to look at some old long haired guy's hairy ass and smell his putridness (is that a word? It is now.) at the same time. Telegraph was so nasty, it always smelled like urine. Then they got these mini street cleaners that they would use on the sidewalks to clean up the stench. For the most part, it was fun to go and look at the wares there and go listen to the drum circle on campus, but it was same ole', same ole' every weekend. I liked the head shops, they always had incense burning and it seemed like Haight all over again! hehehe!

I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the book stores. Ralphie and I would go down there and go to Moes and spend hours and hours and then go over to Shakespeares and spend hours reading and looking at all the books. There were so many great book stores and Record (the vinyl kind) down there, Amoeba records, Rasputins, ahhhhhhhhh...I could find so many great old records there. My collection is quite amazing. I miss the bookk stores, Denver has a few cool comic book stores in the old downtown area and a few record and book stores, but nothin like Tele.

There is one really good book and record store called Black and Read pretty close to us up here in the NW area of Denver and Jello Biafra has been known to drop in and shop there. I was THE security guard and building manager at a Jello Biafra concert on campus at Granola State (Sonoma State College back then) at the dorm cafeteria. It was an all punk show with 3 bands and Jello was actually the most mellow and erudite of the bunch. The rest were just punk and rude and destructive! That was an experience, back in the 1980's!

OoOoOoOo...I wish I lived as close as you do, DM. I would go every weekend! I am envious that you get to go so often! But we will be living near one of the Parks someday...and we will go a LOT then!

Gawd, I LOVE the Billy Hills. We had so much fun watching them last trip. The lead Billy singled me out for his humor and heckling. It was funny! I loved the show. Got some great pics of the whole show! Cannot wait to get back to see them. :)

How cool, Susi! It was a very funny show! Did he let you play the fiddle, or is that part new(audience member plays the fiddle)? I wish my mom would go, she actually plays one and was in her own band for a while, and got to meet
some famous country/bluegrass players.
Now you know why I am such a Hillbilly-genetic! :D:
