What have attractions been called?
By that I mean what other names have guests (In my case because of the book, tourists/idiots) called attractions (Not what CMs call them), things such as:
Tower of Terror: Terror of Tower, Terror Tower
Fantasmic!: Fantasia, Fantastic, Fantasy, Spectromagic, Sorcerry in the Sky.
Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Playground-Honey I Shrunk the Audience (Audience is at EPCOT, common mistake). Fifels Playground (Dont ask, I just popped the woman in the head...in my mind anyways).

Star Tours-Star Trek ride
Astro Orbiter (Which turned into an argument)-Mission: SPACE
Test Track-Track Test, Fast Track

I know all of this doesn't exactly apply to Disneyworld, but I've heard the following:
At DL (by other guests):
Indiana Jones Adventure - Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Indy Jungle Ride
Autopia - Bumper cars, go-karts
At WDW (by other guests):
Star Tours - Star Wars (by my own friggin dad who rides that ride about 50 or 60 times when we go)
Haunted Mansion - The Haunted House
That's all I can remember; haven't been to a disney park in almost 5 years now....::sigh::..

I normally let stuff like Star Tours and Indiana Jones slide simply because they are just too damn alike in the names. Ok so maybe not star tours. But Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye....Thats easy to get mixed up since both ToD and FE are so closly named.

Fantasmic-Fantasia, That light Show
Indiana Jones-The Temple of Doom Ride
Tomorrowland-Tomorrow's Kingdom(done in a very proper Brit. Accent)
Jungle Cruise-The Jungle Safari Ride, that ride where they tell the stupid jokes
Pirates of The Carribean-The Pirate thing.
sigh...

-"You know when Disneyland opened in 1955 nothing went right"
-"Yes John but when the Pirates of The Carribean Breaks down the pirates don't eat the tourists"
-(At the Indy queue) And over there we have Patrick...either that or Indiana Jones has really let himself go.

I hate the, "where do you work?"
"the steam trains at disneyland"
"oh yeah the one where the guy died, that must be scary for you"
"(F-off), the big one that goes around the park!"
"what?"
"with the grand canyon, and the dinosaurs"
"oh so you work at Knott's"
"leave"
or
"that one George Lucas Ride"
"there are two"
"well what's the deal with that any way, what does that have to do with disney?"
"what does [any non-disney ride, ie space, screamin, jungle, thunder, vehicles, autopia] have to do with disney, it's just fun."

When going through the jungle to get to new orleans, the auto-speil says this is your stop for critter country, fronteirland, adventureland, and of course new orleans. Inevitably, when leaving the station[new orleans] a guest will ask, "what's the nearest stop to fronteir land?"
"well you just missed it" or "this was it"
"oh crap can i still get off?"
"no the train is already in motion."
luckily, they laydown and accept their fate, to ride it through to toon town, as of yet i havent' had anyone become irate, or try and jump off, even tho it's awckward to stand there in front of them while they're stressing about missing their stop, even tho i've already informed them of the best way to where they wanted to go.

So what's the big deal about calling a attraction something close to what the name actually is?
Fast Track, the Limo ride, Pirates, the auto/car ride, the big ball, the large golf ball - BIG DEAL.
Some guests are not Disney experts, nor Disney-aholics.
Do you know every part in your car ? Or do you tell the mechanic 'this doohicky is broke ?'
I do agree though that "Where is the Spiderman ride?" , "Why did you move the Hulk coaster?" or "My kid wants to get picture with Tweety." is ridiculus, but messing up a name slightly is no reason to think that guests shouldn't be allowed to enter a Disney theme park.

"You're messing with my Zen thing, man."
"Dreams are as portals,
flat visions of misty places,
fragments bound below my surface,
but I can write dreams,
they flow from me,
inscribed but now unbound,
I touch them,
and they are real,
and they are real."
