A place to be entertained. Videos, jokes, games, and more.

At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.
Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

I just saw the leeches thing recently on a Michael Palin travelogue of Eastern Europe on the Travel Channel. At one spa stop, at least, it's considered a high-end treatment that many regional celebrities have done. Palin had it done on camera.

Though interestingly, a surgeon, a top hand specialist, that my mom (a now-retired physical therapist) used to work for has been using leeches medically for some time. Whenever he has to reattach, say, a finger or two, it takes time for the capillaries to rejoin to allow full return blood flow, and the leeches can relieve the pressure from blood buildup in the healing fingertip very efficiently.
Gives me the willies thinking about it, though. This same doctor handled my wrist surgery a few years back, and fortunately no leeches were involved.

Virgin has announced they're getting into the search business. Here's the new logo.

Actually, <
http://www.google.com/virgle> is a program announcement that could be a thrilling new adventure for humanity.
Sadly, it was doomed by the date of the announcement.
I still think it's doable and desirable.

Darn, I was hoping to be in on that. but I backed out, as there was no plans to have a WDW Mars edition!
And the commute to Flordia or California would be WAY too long!

Here's why Hawaii has turned yellow.

I read that one about Demi Moore in one of the rags I read. I like to read all those celebrity mags for fun. That thar is disgusting. And tho she has a great bod and skin, I bet them leeches had nothin to do with it. I would like to see her Plastic Surgeon's bill. Or meet the guy who does the touch up and airbrushing to all her photos before thay are allowed to be published.
I want to have a few things *done* as I get older. Along with my usual hair dying, I want to have restylane injections to smooth out the wrinkles I got from smoking for 26 yrs. And a few other things. Gravity does not stop and I need to help it slow down a little! hehehe.... We'll see..I am not in a hurry, but maybe in time I will have it done, or maybe I will change my mind.
Ralph wants me to stop dying my hair!

It would be pretty much gray if I did that. I hate the gray. He does not mind it. I think men look better with gray hair than women do. I won't let it go, I will keep coloring it til it looks weird for my age, then I will stop.

I hear you on the hair coloring, Susi! I get plenty of compliments on my medium auburn hair than I did when I was a brunette. Mom wants me to stop coloring my hair, and cutting it myself, too, but excuse me, I'm 51 years old, I think if I grew the hair, it should be mine to do as I please with! I am so glad she's away for two weeks back east--finally got Tripod to the vet (she has to take half a pill in the evening, in addition to the whole one in the morning--her thyroid count is a bit too high). Made a chocolate cake from scratch--I'm going to wait until after dinner to see how it came out (made from the recipe on the cocoa tin).
