I must say, I like the law professor's response when the victim of the eBay suit sought her advice: "That seller is a few cards short of a deck". I can't believe that man had to shell out $500 for an attorney. I would have thought that the plaintiff would have had to pay for his attorney fees. That's what we should do, if a person brings a frivolous suit, they should automatically have to pay the defendant's attorney fees if the suit is dismissed. That would give some people pause.

Anyone remember when a costume superhero cape came with a label saying, "Cape does not enable wearer to fly."

Or how about the stroller that said, "Remove child from stroller before folding."
Unless you have one of those little contortionist children from Cirque du Soleil, I don't think any person with a working brain would do such a thing.

I have a warning label taped to my desk drawer at work. It came off one of those car windshield shades and it says:

Do not drive with shade in window.

Honestly...... *facepalm*

The thing with those warning labels makes me think: Did they make sure to put that there first to prevent people from being idiots, or was it the result of some bonehead actually doing whatever they are warning against?

I'm sure in most cases its the second one.

Theme Park Where wrote:I've run into the watch liability thing too. Only a select few jewelers will replace batteries now, since consumers are prone to suing if their item is damaged. I now buy cheap watches and just replace the whole thing when the battery dies. It's cheaper and easier than trying to find someplace to replace the battery.
If you change your mind, there's a kiosk in the Osceola Square Mall where they will change batteries. Always had the right one in stock too, even for some of the weird Disney artifacts I've drug in.
