Trying to be good.
Trying to be good.
I'm just wondering, what makes a good guest experience for you CMs? We are heading to Disney World next month, and I was wondering if there is something I could do to put a smile on your faces. I do always try and smile, say Excuse me, Please, and Thank You. What else am I missing? I don't want to come back from my trip and see myself here under the heading SG.

The two biggest tips: READ and LISTEN! Chances are the information you are looking for is on your map or timesguide. Read the back of your fastpass and your return time, it explains it to you. Listen to what the CMs tell you. We don't talk just to hear the sounds of our own voice (which is typically gone by the end of our shift), we are giving you pertinent information. Listen and obey and please do not argue. If you feel the CM is in the wrong, politely ask to talk to a manager instead of arguing with the CM. There have been several threads on this topic, try searching "good guest".

Play along. For the most part, we enjoy our jobs and enjoy creating magic. There's nothing more frustrating than to be acting in accordance with the themeing of our areas only to have a guest say, "oh, just tell me how to get on the ride." We like to have fun too, and our day goes by much quicker when the guests are willing to play along and enjoy our "show."

Saying Thank You is a big one. I don't think CMs get this nearly enough.
Also, if you get a CM who gives really great service, please give a compliment to GR.
Thanks for asking. :)

I will be your guide for this magical journey into the movies. It's the perfect job for me, because I love movies! Is everybody ready? Great, because it's showtime. Ready when you are, CB!

We bought a button maker and made buttons 1 year and passed them out to the CMs.I put sayings on the buttons for different rides we went on,i.e. "CAST MEMBERS GO TO INFINITY AND BEYOND FOR GUESTS." At the bottom I put "Thanks From The and our last name. The CMS were surprised and seemed to enjoy us taking the time to do that. :D:

That is a GREAT idea. Where did you get the maker and materials?WaltsFavRob wrote:We bought a button maker and made buttons 1 year and passed them out to the CMs.I put sayings on the buttons for different rides we went on,i.e. "CAST MEMBERS GO TO INFINITY AND BEYOND FOR GUESTS." This is a bit off topic but while I was on my program I encountered an awesome family. They had bought themed gifts for all the characters (honey for pooh, huge diamond ring for minnie, cheese for mickey). The characters and photopass people loved them so they had a lot of pictures on their photopass card. They even had to sign something cause Disney liked the picture of the son giving the ring to minnie.
Ok back to the OP. Listen, be patient, and say thank you. We know that you have had a long day and it's hot but we feel the same way. I loved talking to the nice guests when I was on my CP.

Re: Trying to be good.
Here's a question on this topic for all of you. I have had some great CM's and I always like to drop by City Hall and pay a compliment, sometimes we get distracted and forget, I have emailed in these cases, the problem is I am really bad with names, my GF will remember everyone and I dont remember. (I suffer from CRS) I thought about printing up some compliment cards on business card stock that says thanks, you did a great job, along those lines and to give the card to your manager, I would include my contact info in case a manager wanted to verify it was legit. Do you all think CM's would give the cards to the managers or leads? or would they just toss them?
Thanks
Steve
Thanks

On your way into the park stop by Guest Relations and ask for some Great Service Fanatic cards. You just have to put the CM's name, your name, the date, and why. The CM takes care of the rest and gives it to their leader. A notation goes on the CM's record card and sometimes there are Great Service Fanatic drawings apparently. One of these cards is what City Hall has you fill out when you want to compliment a CM.svickersart wrote:Here's a question on this topic for all of you.
