Re: Wow...
HAHA, at a recent trip, went to purchase Space Mountain photo, when I tripped over......little Timmy! He was sitting, yes sitting in the line with his Aussie parents watching nearby, but they were not in line....Thankfully no injuries, so I gently glided him back to parents...Timmy was exhausted from staying up too late the night before, they said, so I guess he was plopping down in very random places. I suggested a nap!(nicely)

Re: Wow...
Is this the same Timmy people mentioned a couple of days ago as one of those regulars who is a bit off?

Yeah, but do they come with mouse ears?GRUMPY PIRATE wrote:I ws doing some research for work on getting some safety equiptment for some of the employees, and had several catalogs on my desk. The one thing that jumped out at me was a warning sign, made of plastic, that was about 4 feet tall, and shaped like a guy in a hard hat, and bright yellow or green. you could hve various sayings printed on it. (wet, slippery floor, overhead loading, SG crossing, etc.) the thing is, they really catch your eye. Perhaps WDW should consider this. (also, if you knocked it over, it would make a rather loud sound!)
Plus it put the warning almost at eye level, and really in almost everyones field of vision!

[Lightbulb flash] Maybe design a sign that is made like a giant weeble. You CAN'T knock it over. And if it is inflatable (maybe with a compressed air auto inflate cartridge to make deployment quick and easy), it can be eye level yet easy to store in small space and easy to deploy. Not to mention that if some SG manages to trip over it, it provides an "airbag" function.GRUMPY PIRATE wrote:I ws doing some research for work on getting some safety equiptment for some of the employees, and had several catalogs on my desk. Re: Wow...
A Weeble design would be great--SG knocks it over, sign tips over backwards, then rights itself, bonking SG where it counts!
Seriously, I've had people overlook a 3' high, 1' wide bright yellow sign at the entrance of Calico Railroad when I worked at Knott's. There was the one girl, old enough to easily recognize a door, that I had to tell her a dozen times where the door was to get on the train! What part of "door" didn't she understand? I mean, there was a green sign on a post with an arrow and the word "Enter' pointed at the door, the aforementioned sign next to the door, and above the door there was a sign saying Entrance. Come on, people, how many clues do you need?
Though one could argue people have alot of sensory overload to deal with these days....

Re: Wow...
I am sure that they could make them!!! In fact, I am a little suprised that they dont have them at DLR and WDW, I mean, even WallyWorld had them!Zazu wrote:Yeah, but do they come with mouse ears?
I think a 4 foot plastic mickey holding a caution sign might get the attention of someone, OR Stitch! OR Boo. AS long as it is OSHA compliant!

Re: Wow...
But if it was a character figure you would have even more people rushing across the wet floor so they would be first in line to pose for a photo with the character. On the other hand it would increase the odds of the "sign" being noticed. And if the crowd wanting a photo got large enough the danger of a wet spot would become moot as there would be no room for anyone to fall down.GRUMPY PIRATE wrote: I think a 4 foot plastic mickey holding a caution sign might get the attention of someone, OR Stitch! well true, but you could also get it with the photo reflective prisim tape that really ruins flash photographs!Randy B wrote:But if it was a character figure you would have even more people rushing across the wet floor so they would be first in line to pose for a photo with the character. Wouldn't stop them. How many people still insist on taking flash photos of stage shows, from the back of the theatre, and all the flash lights up is the back of the heads of the next 4 rows of audience. They take the photos, wonder why they didn't get the picture they were aiming to get, and do it again at the next show.GRUMPY PIRATE wrote:well true, but you could also get it with the photo reflective prisim tape that really ruins flash photographs!
