Actually, that would be a good armour to wear TO a concert- looks neat and great for wearing in the mosh pit! :D:

Wow- you know I never think of CM's as being smokers LOL Seems like they wouldn't have enough breaks for it during their shifts! There's a smoker's stand (the kind that's a metal box on a pole with small holes on top) behind Main Street for CMs and this evening I saw a good bit of smoke coming from it. I tell the coordinator and he grabs a cup of water from the water cooler to put it out
Shorty what gets me is people lighting up in the handicapped viewing areas during the fireworks/parades.
There you are in your chair, trapped between the people in other chairs/scooters with nowhere to run, and you've got some idiot blowing smoke in your face (literally) or holding his cig down and back and up in your face cause you're seated- then they get offended when you have an asthma attack from it and have to take out your inhaler!
It's happened to me more than once. believe it or not. So thank you for your vigilance in telling people to go to the DSAs! A lot of people don't like the smell and to others it's a minor annoyance- but it is an asthma trigger for me, - a big one.

Shorty, take a look at your Tell-a-cast. It will list the locations of all the smoking areas in each land. Just remember the one right behind the castle in Fantasyland closes 1.5 hours before fireworks, and the one behind the christmas shop in LS can be difficult to get to during a parade.

Ta gotta start taking a squirt bottle along, and give the offending cigarette a little squirt!!!February wrote:Wow- you know I never think of CM's as being smokers LOL Seems like they wouldn't have enough breaks for it during their shifts!

Add something flammable to the squirt bottle/gun--watch what happens when the smoker's hand catches fire! Next best thing to lighting farts!

You would think but I've seen a number of CMs smoking backstage.February wrote:Wow- you know I never think of CM's as being smokers LOL Seems like they wouldn't have enough breaks for it during their shifts!
Now that is rude! At least most of the people smoking outside of DSA are in relatively quit areas away from most guests. I saw a guy near a door that leads downstairs in Fantasyland and if I was going to use the door then I would have said something but I didn't.Shorty what gets me is people lighting up in the handicapped viewing areas during the fireworks/parades.

A few years ago I was on Main Street (between the end of the buildings and the Hub) waiting for the parade when this woman lit up right by me. I told her she couldn't smoke there and pointed her to the smoking area behind us (Plaza Landing).
I know about the list. Today I looked for the ones I went near so I'll know exactly where they are. I didn't know about the one in Fantasyland closing nor about the one in LS being hard to get to sometimes, thanks.bpgstudios wrote:Shorty, take a look at your Tell-a-cast. There's a few mistakes on the list in the Tell-a-cast but I have no idea who to contact to let them know. It says the Town Square one is by the DVC but that area is now the Chapeau and has been for over a month now. It also doesn't show the one across from Pecos Bill's, along the construction wall by the fry stand.
Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

Not too many people, including many Cast Members, know about the Fantasyland smoking location closing for fireworks. We get a lot of guests saying that a CM told them there was a smoking location and they *must* be let in. Most of the time they don;t give us too much greif when we tell them there are loaded fireworks in that area, and that one glowing ember can set them off.Shorty82 wrote:... The list is a bit wrong on the Tell-a-cast, yes. In the past the maps have been wrong too. For example, during either the first P&P parties or Not so Scary, there was no smoking location behind the castle, instead it was located by the liberty square/fantasyland breezeway.

And that brings up something I've been wondering. Where are the launch sites for Wishes? I know of the one behind the park along Floridian (I think that's the name, the road that goes west from the Park 2 entrance) and I can tell some of the fireworks are launched from roofs somewhere in Fantasyland but that's it. I can't tell exactly where they are launching from.
