question about MK...

Post by I LUV Chip » Thu Apr 10, 2008 10:08 am

Hello! I'm hoping someone can help me. :) I've heard about an animated mural that was once located in the Disneyana Building. We were looking for it last year when we went and couldn't find it. We also asked a few of the CMs and none of them knew what we were talking about. Does this still exist and if so where is it?

The idea that all the characters are in one mural is just WAY cool!

Thanks in advance!

:)

It is in Exposition Hall but IIRC it is in what is now a backstage area. I'll probably be heading into the park before my shift this evening and I'll go verify where it is at.

Zazu showed it to me one time when he was showing me around. It is a really neat mural. Sadly if it is backstage like I think it is you won't be able to see it and I won't be able to get a picture of it.

I'm not surprised a lot of CMs don't know about it. It is in a part of the building where even CMs who work in the building all the time have no need to go as there's not much back there.

No problem. It may be really late before I can get back to you though, I work until 2:15 in the morning tonight.

I know that mural! But yes, it is backstage near non-guest areas. I pass it often when I'm scheduled to work in the area. Has every Character imaginable on it - not so sure about the recent ones, but most certainly the classics!

This sounds very cool, can someone get a couple of pics or some video and post it? I would love to see it.

the mural is blocked off because that area is currently where the characters go to get their water and snack breaks before they come right back out to meet with the guests.

Yep. It's off the theater in Expo Hall. It's a great mural too- it's a shame it's blocked off.

I will be your guide for this magical journey into the movies. It's the perfect job for me, because I love movies! Is everybody ready? Great, because it's showtime. Ready when you are, CB!

I found it last night when I just had to step backstage for a few minutes (got bombarded by questions from every angle and just had to take a quick breather). It has all the classic characters but as it hasn't been updated in years the newer ones aren't there.

I saw why you'd see it, there's an offset character area right there.

I have a feeling that the picture that Churchy linked to is about the best you're going to get. As it is backstage taking pictures of it is strictly forbidden.

Thanks everyone for letting us know!

Now someone needs to take it out of one of the big tour guide books. "They" list it as an "unheralded treasure" and send people seaching for it.

Thanks again, the picture was great!
