Year of a Million Extremely Reasonable Dreams
Re: Year of a Million Extremely Reasonable Dreams
Sadly enough they give out FPs to the Land and we don't even use FP most days. But still we let them through the FP line if they really want to save 30 seconds.

I saw that and was surprised that there would be a Fast Pass for Living with the Land.CMGUY89 wrote:Sadly enough they give out FPs to the Land and we don't even use FP most days. But still we let them through the FP line if they really want to save 30 seconds.
They weren't being used today and the park was pretty busy. When I got to Epcot about 1:00 today I went straight to Soarin' to get a FP, the return time was 8:15-9:00. I've never seen or heard of such a long time before a FP window. I was able to FP Mission: Space once another FP was available and ws able to ride it hours before I could Soarin' even though I got that FP a long time before. The standby time kept going up and up for Soarin' and Test Track as the afternoon wore on.
The dang tip boards lie. This evening it said walk on for Circle of Life and 20 minutes for the Land so I decided to do them to kill time waiting for my FP window. I get there and they are closed down for the evening. The board should have said "Closed" not give a wait time!
I would love to meet the genius that decided that most of the front half of Epcot should close 2 hours before the back half and wring his neck. That has never made sense to me. Why close half the park so much earlier than the rest? Soarin', Test Track, and M:S were still open so I thought that the other Future World attractions would be too.
Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

Yeah, it's strange. Especially since we are not set up for FP. We just have a merge position that groups the boats. While Soarin' has a merge position to merge FP and Standby and a Grouper to Group the carriages. Unfortunately we have to do double duty and assist with Wheelchairs which can cause MAJOR problems.Shorty82 wrote:I saw that and was surprised that there would be a Fast Pass for Living with the Land.

As for FW closing early, I caution you on approaching SG territory there. It has always been that way until FW started getting some E-Tickets. That was mostly to funnel people towards WSC to see Illuminations. Now it is a rather moot point because attractions that are open till close include SSE, M:S, TT, Soarin', and Nemo. So basically the only things that close at 7 are Living With The Land, Circle of Life, Imagination/HISTA, Energy, and Innoventions. As for Soarin' FPs, that's not bad at all. I have seen them all distributed by 12 on some days.

Re: Year of a Million Extremely Reasonable Dreams
The videos are amusing. I got a kick out of the cat sleeping with the ducky in video number 3.
I love the YOMD. We won a set of the special ears over Spring Break as we were coming off Splash. We were walking out when a Dream Squad person said "Congratulations, you're winners!" We kept walking and were looking at eachother somewhat confused. A few feet beyond that were the people handing out the ears. It was really neat and special, and it really made our day. I love the ears and they are prominently displayed in my apartment!

not in a good mood and tired so here goesCMGUY89 wrote:Come on Churchy...it's not so bad.
Dream squad is pretty cool but I don't like when they give out prizes at the attractions and will run out mid-vehicle and be like "Sorry! Have a magical day!". I think they should have it planned out so they get a full-vehicle and then leave.

I been fucked over royallly but empty dreams of Disney and my hopes of ever going to DLR do not exist. My hopes of WDW are impossible, ever.
I gave up on ever winnning anything from stingy Disney.

I may have missed something, considering I am fairly new, but why? What happened b/t you and Disney?

From your profile, it says you work at Disney in Entertainment. Aren't CM's disqualified from winning any YOMD prizes other than Backstage Magic. I always thought this as most companies don't allow their own employees to receive from giveaways they sponsor. Of course if you don't say anything to the Squad, I guess they won't know!EeyoresButterfly wrote:The videos are amusing. I got a kick out of the cat sleeping with the ducky in video number 3.

For a lot of the smaller prizes they don't even ask, they just hand you it. You have to go out of your way to say, I can't I'm a CM. I got a dream FP once on Everest and gave it away to someone once I got off. For the larger prizes they ask you if you work for Disney or any affiliates and then they give you the prize after you sign paperwork, etc.

Last night I got backstage magic cast upon me. I'll be going to the CM screening of Enchanted tomorrow night at Studios.
