Good thing to, because if he had seen the abomination that they made out of the Earthquake attraction, would have surely killed him.

Did someone pry the rifle loose?

In today's L.A. Times, they had an editorial cartoon of Heston in heaven, rifle in one hand Oscar in the other, Pearly Gates has an international "no guns' sign, Heston's wearing an NRA shirt. St. Peter, says to an angel, "I don't care if the guy says he's Moses! Pry the gun from his cold, dead hands, or he isn't going anywhere..." Behind the Pearly Gates are a crowd of people, labeled by a sign saying 'Victims of gun violence', and another angel is saying "We sure have a lot of souls up here who can't wait to have a word with him...."In the background is a guy going through an airport scanner, with TSA officers checking everything.

Felinefan, that was a great, detailed description of the cartoon! I didn't see it, butwith your description, I didn't need to. It was pretty funny too!

I understand the passion that the supporters of arms control feel. If only life were so simple as to say outlaw them and then the problem will go away.
Do not kid yourself, the moment a law is passed that limits your ability to own a gun you are open to hostile take over. It's all outside image. I personally have never owned a gun and I do not intend to, but, I want my enemies to believe that I have one and am not afraid to use it. It's all image.
Check any country that has been taken over by tyrants and I will bet my pay that there were laws in place preventing the public from having guns or, in the very least, having to register with the government.

That explains why Hawaii has such tough gun laws. It's so the sovereignty whack jobs can take over.Goofyernmost wrote:Check any country that has been taken over by tyrants and I will bet my pay that there were laws in place preventing the public from having guns or, in the very least, having to register with the government.

The first thing that any dictatorship or totalitarian government has done before gaining total control was remove guns from the hands of law-abiding citizens. This was to prevent them from fighting back.Goofyernmost wrote:I understand the passion that the supporters of arms control feel. There are statistics that show laws that make it easier for law-abiding citizens to own guns reduce crime. This is due to a few different things. One big one is that criminals have no way of knowing if they're next victim will be armed. Outlawing guns only unarms law-abiding citizens, not criminals. Criminals aren't going to give up their guns but instead will use them to commit crimes against the unarmed populace.
