Okay, if you are pulled over in garland, make sure your shoes are not on tight. The cops will pull you out through the windows and spin you until your shoes fly off.
If you guys are coming this way perhaps we could all get together if you have time!

I will be in San Antonio in theory next August, not this August. You can meet me then.

San Antonio is fun, about a 4-5 hour drive from DFW. Wombat can drive, I'll sleep :D:mechurchlady wrote:I will be in San Antonio in theory next August, not this August. You can meet me then.

VM's Denver performance has been posted on YouTube! No closeups of me that I noticed, sorry (actually that's a good thing!), but you can spot me in the long shots 2 or 3 in from the right-hand side (depending on the song), top row.

Re: Woo hoo! Past step one...
Sorry to revive this thread, but I just passed another milestone with VM. This weekend was my first-ever competition with the chorus, the division-level competition in Oklahoma City, which leads to the District level (October in Little Rock) and then to the 2009 International competition -- July 2009 in Anaheim! I'm on my way, kind of!

I've blogged the full story here, but the VM scored over 92 points out of 100 on average. The judges are fair but tough and picky, so that's an awesome score (especially when you consider that every other competing chorus scored less than 75).
If this sounds like bragging, I apologize. Given the reputation of the VM over the years, in my heart of hearts, I'm actually just expressing my deep and profound relief that my being in the VM doesn't make the chorus suck!!

SO what you are saying is that all of us here at SGT should start making plans NOW to attend!!! I wonder if the California Adventure Hotel is accepting reservations that far in advance??

Go ahead and brag. You and the rest of VM deserve it. Maybe you're all so good because you all share the fear of sucking.BRWombat wrote:If this sounds like bragging, I apologize. Wowzer!! You must have a magnificent voice, Wombat. Are there any video clips of you performing solo on YouTube or somewhere? Would love to hear your voice. What part do you sing? Bass? Tenor??
