Tired Guests

Post by Jedi » Tue Jun 22, 2004 4:43 am

This happened a few years ago. I was walking to go back stage on main
street near the fire station. There was a father, mother & their 10 year
old daughter I'd say. They were headed back stage. I approached them &
asked them where they were going & the father replied "to find a quiet
place to rest". Apparently the family needed a nap. I advised him that the
enitre place is a park & that they could relax anywhere in the park except
backstage. He said that was not good enough & that it was not quiet
enough for the family & that they needed to go backstage where it would
be quiet. I offered the family to find a bench to relax on or they could go
back to their hotel room. They said the bench was not good enough or
quiet enough because they were still around the noise. I finally
threatened them with a warning that I would proceed to get security if
they tried to proceed backstage. They finally gave up & they were very
angered at my answer & suggestions especially when I mentioned
secruity. I guess people really leave their brains at home when on
vacation. The cast member only sign was not blaitant enough.

Neither is the "Exit down the stairs" sign on Montezooma's Revenge at Knott's.

Who says it's quiet backstage, either? From the way you describe it, they
were going to the area behind DFD next to Talent / HRDM (you know, the
MS PSA & Egghouse gate...just behind Space)...not exactly the least busy
part of backstage!

I heard a story about a Japanese family that wandered backstage one
day and proceeded to order lunch at the Inn Between. No one really
stopped them until it occurred to everyone they shouldn't be there, and
security escorted them back on stage.

That is exactly where they were going near the fire dept. They thought it
would be quiet, though! Little do they know.

this reminds me of the "emergency exit" sign on the break room door at
mickey's house. this one lady came down with her daughter and just
walked right in and searched our break room for a bathroom whilst the 4
or 5 cast members sitting at the table just stared at her. she said this was
an emergency and the kid peed her pants.

sad times for an uncontrolable bladder, or a neglective parent.

I get tired of people telling me "That's too far", when the place in question
is usually less than 100 yards away. I usually give them my tough shit
look.

I've always wondered what these people want to do. Even if it is
something that is far away, what do these guests want us to do, bring it
to them. Espically if it's an attraction that they are complaining that is too
far away.

candyapples

Post by the wicked queen » Tue Jun 29, 2004 3:54 am

i was talking with a guest about a week ago while i was putting out some
product when we got to talking about an apple incident that happened to
her a few nights before ... she said she was working at emporium when
an older gentleman approached her register with a few items he wanted
to purchase ... he then asked her if they sold candyapples there ... the
cast member said no but that he would be able to purchase one at candy
palace which happened to be just a few stores ahead ... she then said
that the gentleman gave her a wierd look and said :? "well, i'm too tired
to go there ... you can go and get it for me" the cast member of course
said that she unfortunately could not do such a thing so he then purched
his items and walked away ... the cm said "the nerve asking for me to go
get it for him ... like i'm really gonna stop what i'm doing ... walk out to
candy palace and go get an apple for this one person ... yeah right!!!" ...
lol. i couldn't help but laugh ... some ppl ... heheheh
