Shiny
A year ago today, I was stoked. I had just got out of Traditions, I was hanging around the Magic Kingdom proud to be a new Cast Member and a Disney bus driver. I was officially living the dream of so many around the world, and myself.
Today, I received my one-year pin. I'm thinking I am going to take the original I was given, put it away, get a replacement and wear the replacement.
Yeah, I'm kinda sentimental.

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

Congratulations! I can't blame you for being sentimental, I'll probably be the same way in a year's time.
Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.
We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious…
and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.

Congratulations, BigWallaby. It must be fun to look back and think about the thousands...tens of thousands...of people you've touched over the past 365 days.
I just got done watching 2 CMs entertain about 30 families around a Disney campfire here at the resort. Anybody that says that CMs don't make magic needs to open their eyes. What you do every day is incredible and the guests never forget it.
Thanks for your year of service. Enjoy the pin. Cherish the memories and the magic.

BW-- I got mine today, too!!!!!!!!
Of course, mine is 2 months late, but what the hell???
I'm doing the same thing.. gonna keep one and wear the other. I'll have to wait until the team center gets some pins in stock, though..

Congrats, Wallaby! You really deserve it for all that you do for our fellow guests here. May you have many more magic making years as a CM in the happiest place on Earth.
For Narnia! And for Aslan!

Congratulations! Wear it with pride :D: , and may it just be the first of many year pins :) .Big Wallaby wrote:A year ago today, I was stoked. I'm coming up on my one year myself, and I can say that I can see a future for myself here. This is a great company with so many opportunities for advancement if you're just willing to look for it (hopefully that didn't sound cheesy).
(on a side note, you're lucky, here at the DLR, I've heard of cases of management taking two years to get CMs their 1-year pin).
I just had to point this out, since people often mix the two up. The Disneyland Resort is the "Happiest Place on Earth". Walt Disney World is the "Most Magical Place on Earth". Though with the new "DisneyParks - Where Dreams Come True", that might be changing, lol :D: .disneyprincess1988 wrote:May you have many more magic making years as a CM in the happiest place on Earth.
