When you come to WDW check out the book shelf in the Japan store. They have LOTS of good how to books on origami (the art of paper folding) that cover everything from origami for young kids to at least one "omnibus" with some of the most complicated (as well as a few easy) designs I have ever tried. Running around a restaurant turning all the paper napkins into fanciful shapes would be fun.

Of course the earliest origami form I ever learned is one I found handy to know. I learned how to fold a paper cup and being able to make a cup out of a piece of plain paper has come in handy a few times. :)

Fascinating. I've watched my supervision bill former guests for such missing items. Guess I'd best check with them again in case I get that question.

I read on Board X one time that usually the towel animals are made out of old wash clothes that were going to be tossed anyway.

I think they are the kind of thing you enjoy if you get them and take pictures of but leave them. One day during my family's trip in July we got two towel animals. We took pictures of them but left them in the room.

Origami is fun! We have a sheet a day calendar that is an Origami one. You use the day befores paper to make the origami object for the next day. The back of the page is nicely colored and patterned paper. It is so cool and fun!

It would never cross our minds to keep them, they are after all, towels and therefore, hotel property. I would think taking pictures of they would be enough.

If I wanted them at home, I guess I could learn hot to make them!!

Hmmm, have to get DW a book on it, se is always doing stuff with fabric!

And if you are doing them at home for decorative pieces you can sew the pieces together. Then they won't come apart and can be moved without fear. And you can use fancy buttons instead of stickers.

We got this in the BCV last year, I was heartbroken when my husband un-did them to get dried I said he should have stood there and dripped!

We always let people take them at GF. In fact, we budgeted in "lost towels" for the ones the kids took home. We always figured that only a few families would actually want to pack them and towels wear out quickly in a hotel environment so it wasn't a big deal. We DID bill out for other things, including the SGs that decided to pack the Mickey lamps! We discussed gluing them down to the dressers but that made it hard for the HSKP staff to dust so we just billed out when people took them. We actually sold them in the gift shop.

:eek:They take the lamps, that is so bad, I never take anything...well perhaps a bar soap
