Star Tours

Post by hulkcoaster » Sun Jun 13, 2004 4:08 pm

This isn't really the Cm's fault, but there manager. So anyways I'm at the park yesterday and go to Star Tours. I see the line is outside and go oh no, it's like an hour. Wrong, it's 15 min. Why was the line outside then? Because some dumb-shit decided to use one side of the double sided line and have the merge point for FP and standby at the front door. Why is beyond me, there are two sides to the line and a CM at the top where they meet anyways, why not have the merge point there so the people can wait in the themed line. And to top it all off, they were running to what I observed looked to be four cabins, which before FP was the reason to shut down one side of the line.

ummm... they always have the merge point outside. I have never seen both the inside lines used since FP was installed.

I haven't been on Star Tours since it got FP so I didn't know. It is still stupid considering they have two lines.

Ever since FP, I think the other line has been shut down...I have never seen them use both lines when I was there....But I could be wrong.

The way I remember it before FP was that they used both lines on busy days, and one line on non-busy days. One line catered to gates 1 and 2 while the other line went to gates 3 and 4. At least that's how I remember it...

I'm in agreement -- I've always seen the FP merge point outside. That being said, in the few months that I've been a CM I have NEVER seen a line for Star Tours. To be fair, I don't work attractions, but I'm all over the resort so I see a little bit of everything just about every day, and every time I've passed through the east side I haven't seen a line for ST.

Now that I think of it, why don't they use the other line for fast passes? Too much chance people will jump over the railing I guess? I know on some rides they have TWO points where they check your fast passes for validity....maybe they could do that on ST too. *shrug* Like I said I never see a line for it anyway so what does it really matter.

I think the reason for the cut off of the second line is that star tours is just does not have a high enough ridership to warrant two FP positions. Hell it doesn't even have enough riders for FP in the first place! :pimp:

i think they might be too much for one person to group and take merge fastpass.

That's all right. From what I've heard, Buzz is going to get Star Tours fast pass machines, so Star Tours won't have fast pass anymore.

And everyone's right, it's been one side with fast pass, don't know why, but two summers ago, I worked eastside fast pass. Also whenever the line is full for Star Tours, it's maybe a 30 min line (if all 4 cabins are running)

::Old man voice::

I remember when Star Tours had ridiculous lines. Is that ride outdated now? If so, then so am I :(
