Fake MAW buttons?
I just read on another board that some sociopaths out there are making phony MAW buttons and selling them to equally evil people to use in Disney. Have any of your seen anything like this? This has to be one of the most sickening things I've read about. What are the consequences at Disney over discovering something like this? Public flogging and ban from all Disney property for the adults involved would be nice but is it harsh enough? I'm just utterly floored by this.

Actually, I'm all for it -- provided that those illegitimately taking advantage of the "perks" of Make-a-Wish also be made to experience the rest of the deal. That is, immediately after leaving the parks they should infected with a painful and fatal disease. :mad:Christine43 wrote:I just read on another board that some sociopaths out there are making phony MAW buttons and selling them to equally evil people to use in Disney. There must be some critera in this to constitute fraud- they are obviously being used to obtain undeserved items/ services. Maybe some sort of ID needs to come with the buttons...I don't know a lot about MAW, but this is DISGUSTING

That's awful. I recall reading a story about how parents made their kid pretend to be sick in order to be able to go to the Give Kids The World Village. The plan hit a speedbump when the child told someone he wasn't really sick. The parents were arrested.

SG's would do ANYTHING to get in a short line or special treatment ...Personally, I'm not surprised that people do this.

Wasn't that the kid who later murdered his parents so he could go to the orphans' picnic?CMGUY89 wrote:That's awful. Isn't there a way for Disney to check on this from them? Their Web site talks about the partnership with Disney on fullfilling wishes. I would think that there would be some sort of coordinator that would be knowing at MAW and Disney (DLR or WDW) on who is going to be at what park and when.
