Re: stupid cheerleaders again
I can't believe Toy Story is considered a classic, I feel old now! I still remember seeing it for the first time in theatres and how big it was that there was a computer animated movie... now kids have little concept of cell animation unless they watch lots of DVDs or VHSs.

I remember seeing Little Mermaid in theaters. Wow, that was a long time ago.

I will be your guide for this magical journey into the movies. It's the perfect job for me, because I love movies! Is everybody ready? Great, because it's showtime. Ready when you are, CB!

uptown,
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday lose meaning, I'll call it Day 1, Day 2 etc.
Day 1- be at hospital 6:00 AM
Day 2- stay at hospital
Day 3- come home at 9:30 PM have dinner and go to bed because..
Day 4- repeat cycle for a whole year
There are better specialties and PM me with questions to ask her if you want to.
My wifes first year of surgical residency:felinefan wrote: Are you sure you want to be a doctor? You have to deal with gross stuff like blood and other less mentionable body substances, you will be going years without decent rest because during your internship and residency you will be on call 24/7, and you can just forget about taking 20 minutes to do your hair and makeup. You won't have that luxury. Ask any doctor, especially a female doctor, what it was like for her during med school, internship and residency. That will be a real eye-opener.

I was jesting. My definition of "Disney Classic" ends with "The Jungle Book", for reasons that should be obvious to those versed in Disney history.EeyoresButterfly wrote:I can't believe Toy Story is considered a classic, I feel old now!
I don't think I'm "old" yet, and I'm older than Disneyland.

Because "The Jungle Book" was the last picture overseen by Walt Disney and one of the last that had almost all of the "Nine Old Men" animators working on it?Zazu wrote:I was jesting. (Forgive me if I am wrong. My copy of Disney Animation:The Illusion of Life is buried deep in my bookshelf)
"The Jungle Book" ranks very high on my favorite Disney movie list.

Grumpy, I am not ultra patriotic but thank your family for us here chez Christine43 in MA. They really are heroes. Combat medic really floors me in particular. I just was accepted into nursing school for 2009 and I'm very proud of it but combat medic is simply amazing. My best to you and them. Christine
As to raising a generation, well, I did raise my son and daughter to be the best that they could. He likes to jump out of airplanes in full combat gear, and is currently serving in a very dusty enviroment outside of the United States. He is a combat medic. My daughter is raising her family, while holding a full time job in the IT field, while her husband also serves his country in combat arms. They all have put themselves through college. So I think I got the next generation thing right.

Re: stupid cheerleaders again
Well, I will say that I do believe you that all cheerleaders are not bad. A lot of them are good. I know two girls who are very level headed, and smart, but are cheerleaders. They are people just like us, there are some good, :D: but there are also some bad. But, you have no reason to say that people are stupid for working at an amusement park. They work just as hard as anyone else at their jobs. And A lot of them have harder jobs then you think. Say, if you are a mechanic, you need to know everything about the rides, and know quite a bit about mechanics. Or, if you work on one of the shows, you have to remember all of your lines, and movements, and do them just on time, or you have to sing, and sing it well. Or if you make the rides, that is very hard to, you need to know A lot. These people who work at amusement parks are just as smart as anyone else, that goes the same for cheerleaders. And you should apologize for saying that these people are stupid. And at least they also have the decency to spell correctly.uptown_girl44 wrote:wow! I have never been more embaressed for others in my life, or ashamed to be associated with them. You chastise the cheerleaders for not being intelliagent, but have you actually talked to any of them? I cheered for 5 years and was lucky enough to qualify for nationals at wdw twice. I would also be willing to bet I am smarter than the majority of you.
I could sterotype all of you as too stupid to hold an actual career. You work at an amusment park and have no ambition to do anything else. These girls will get college scholorships for their skills. I would like to see any of you do a double down or a standing tuck or even explain to me what those are. I applaud them for practicing a sport that at many schools (as was mine) is not considered a sport. We were required to raise the $20,000 to go to nationals by fundrasing (i.e raffles car washes and 50/50 drawings). Our "sport" was year round leaving no time for anything else. Try outs were 2-4 weeks after nationals.
If any of you can get in front of a packed stadium and perform the routines these girls do, then complain. Once again sterotyping all of you as you are them I will say you are all too out of shape to even attempt them.
I will also not appologize for anything I am saying. You are all judging an entire group based on your opinions (gathered after less than one min of interaction) with a few of these girls. You are the ones that should be appologizing for sterotyping, something that I thought as adults we were all too mature for.

Re: stupid cheerleaders again
She hasn't been back, I guess the reply's she got to her rather..... self focused view, on cheerleading has put her off. Perhaps she is contemplating the depth of some of the views that differ from her own. The other situation that might be transpiring is that she may have started college, and the experience might have suprised her that she was not as smart as she claims to be, especially when she starts taking core courses other that cherleading!
