I have never met February face to face, but I've dealt with her on a personal issue and believe me, she is a very special person, and the day she was born into the world was a day that the world received a special gift of a warm and caring person. She may not have celebrated birthdays when she was a child, but she has grown up to be one of those people whose adult life is filled with doing kind things for complete strangers. She has a very generous and giving heart and that can be rare in today's world. Bru, I don't mean to embarass you, but I just want to thank you for being the kind of person you are, and I hope someday we can meet in person.

LOL Kleenex!!! *hunts around for box and dabs at eyes* I respect you so much even though we've never met because I know how hard you work at your job and all the millions of little kindnesses you show people every day. It is true that too much signafiance is attached. Growing up the only ones I remember is when I got a new Bike! (that made you really cool!!)

After 17 and in the military, not much in the way of birthdays. At the most going to a club and buying a round. By the time you turn 21, its no big deal.

even now DW gets me a gift card for books store (avid reader) and such. The "extra" desserts and such at WDW are fun, but after one day, its enough.

The fun part is giving birthdays for the kids, and grandkids. They seem to get a kick out of it but we still don't do the over the top sort of thing!
One year we DID take them all to Disneyland and the birthday boy couldn't figure out how all the CM's knew his name to wish him happy birthday. He still talks about that, beyond any present that we could have gotten him!

I think that is what should be remember most, the fun, not the gifts!
