I just didn't want anyone to think I was implying you posted it here to laugh at or that you found it humorous and that's why you posted about it. I didn't want anyone to think I was trying to put you down by saying it's not something to laugh at. (And it appears you didn't take it that way, so great. :) )

I read this section and it made me sad.
I hope that truck driver goes away to prison for a long time.

Just last year there was a 4 car pile up on Katella and Beach Blvd in Staton, CA. The driver who plowed into the 3 other cars was on drugs. The guy was on the way to work and claimed he did not see the cars in front of him.
That driver also was arrested and now sits in the Men's Orange County Jail in Santa Ana. The second driver's car was smashed beyond recognition and the driver died.

Where I live in Seal Beach, there is a street called Lampson. There is a dealy curve that teenagers like to drag race on. My friend from high school was driving home when 2 other drivers were drag racing. One of the idiots lost control and hit my friend's car into a tree where she died. We cal it Dead Man's Curve.

I feel sad for you who have lost a few close friends. That stupid truck driver could had stopped. He should had looked at the paperwork before he got into his truck. :(

To Wallaby: Thanks for the marsupial welcome! It's so sweet of you to do that.

And as for the thread's original subject, it absolutely sickens me that there are yahoos out on the road who drive like this without a thought or care about the lives of others. I don't know why they even pass their road tests if they drive the way they do. While I thankfully have never lost a loved one in a car accident, my prayers go out to those who do.

For Narnia! And for Aslan!

:welcome: to the :bigD: Family from :wallaby:

:wombat: would like to help, but this is one of the few welcoming ceremonies in which he is (for now, anyway) only qualified to cheer you on. Maybe someday soon, :wombat: ?
I'd love it, BW. May I can commute -- and also not take a pay cut! (To quote Charlie Brown: "And maybe I'll just flap my arms and fly to the moon." :rolleyes :)

If it happens at all, it might have to be during retirement, or when I become independently wealthy. Whichever comes first.
