I had a busy day yesterday. Normally I work Saturdays but I switched shifts with someone and had this Saturday off. I've never been to Hollywood Studios, so I decided that after six and half month at WDW I should make that my goal. I parked in the Magic Kingdom guest parking lot took the monorail to MK so I could stop in and check on a shift I was hoping to pick up next week (I got it). Then I took the Monorail to EPCOT and walked to the International Gateway and took the boat to Hollywood Studios. I wandered around the Studios for a while, and rode Tower of Terror and Star Tours. (I never ride more than two rides a day, I mostly like to walk around in the parks.) I was planning on being at the Fantasmic entrance when they started seating at 5:30 and it was only 4:45, so I had something to eat in the little area across the street from the Fantasmic entrance. While I was eating I started thinking that Fantasmic was 7, Illuminations was at 9, and Wishes was at 10; so I got the idea I could watch all three. I had never seen Fantasmic before, and although I had seen Laserphonic I had never seen Illuminations. I had also never seen Wishes from beginning to end, although I'm sure I've seen all of it in bits and pieces. I watch Fantasmic, then took the boat back to EPCOT. I got to EPCOT around 8:20 and found a place to watch it right at the end or the narrow part that connects the World Showcase to Future World. I watched Illuminations and then walked as quickly as I could to the monorail and took that back to MK. I walked under the train station at 8:51, took a backstage shortcut around Main Street to the tipboard card and got there in plenty of time to see the show. Then I waited in the Main Street breakroom for most of the guests to leave so it would be easier to find my car since I had forgotten to note what parking lot/row I had parked in. I bought a piece of peanut butter fudge on my way out and actually managed to find my car pretty easily.
All three shows were awesome, I think Fantasmic was best followed by Illuminations and then Wishes.
It doesn't sound as exciting looking at it written out, but really, it was a fun day and it didn't rain anywhere near as much as I was afraid it would.

Re: Busy day
Gosh, and I thought Shorty had a busy day hopping from park to park. That would be awesome to catch all 3 fireworks shows in one evening.

Re: Busy day
Yeah, my days included a lot of people watching and only a few rides though. Harry crammed a lot into his day. Sounds like a lot of fun though.Whazzup wrote:Gosh, and I thought Shorty had a busy day hopping from park to park. That would be awesome to catch all 3 fireworks shows in one evening.
One of the mods can probably combine the threads. I'm talking with one right now, I'll point him this way.

Re: Busy day
I've done the "see all 3 nighttime spectaculars on the same night" thing ... twice ... great fun both times :)
