At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.
Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

Oh that sounds absolutely perfect, Hobie. I have fond memories of Lahaina. Maui was my favorite of the islands. Some day I WILL go back for a visit. :(

Zazu has dibs on that shift, lol. If he bows out then I want it. I have to be up at 5:30 am and pm, sometimes earlier plus midnight and about 10 am or 4 pm. so I sleep from 7 am to 4 pm maximum, a lot of sleeping at the computer. Husg to all and when are we planning a 2 week WDW Papura and Churchy Trip?Whazzup wrote:I'll take the shift where she wants to sleep - then I could take a nap. I love naps! :)

True - but one nice thing - you don't have to change planes and wait for a connecting flight if you go to DLR.GRUMPY PIRATE wrote:Only downside, you can't DRIVE to DLR or WDW!!

P.S. I'm on my way to pick up the blanket. Can't wait to see it, and will take a picture of it with Karen & family.

Yep, but for us its a little drive to DLR!!! Much less time that it takes to check in for an flight!!Whazzup wrote:True - but one nice thing - you don't have to change planes and wait for a connecting flight if you go to DLR.
We were talking about DRIVING to WDW, with the route 66 tour and other roadside stops!! (downside is that we would have to put the grumpy pups in a kennel for a long time!)

That would be fun, to drive from CA to WDW. I could go thru TN and visit my DS and his family. Maybe take them with us! GP, if you do plan it, share your planned stops with us on SGT.

Sure, I didn't think to "document" a cross country trip I took last year. I drove from San Diego to Boston, and back! but it wasn't a vacation. I drove back and shipped all of DW's mothers stuff, and then drove back a mini-van full of "breakables" and other items that would not have done well in shipping!Ms. Matterhorn wrote:That would be fun, to drive from CA to WDW. On the trip, we have several books that document the "roadside attrction" sites, and talked about doing that going to, and coming from WDW! At the very least, we figure a week to get there, at LEAST a week at WDW, and a week back!
