ok i know wal mart's not a theme park but
UGH these people are starting to drive me crazy. i work overnight at wal mart so with as few customers as i get u'd think i'd have relatively no problems, right? WRONG! i've been having SOOOOO many...most recently around 6 this morning a kid who maybe appeared to be 19 or 20 comes and just buys some sharpies...they are and age restricted item to 18 and over and when i asked him for his id he said he didn't have it. i apologized and said i could not sell it to him. so he proceeds tio vent on totally unrelated things saying studff like "do i look like i'm 12?" or asking me "oh yeah like you never drunk when you were younger or used stuff that was restriceted" (by the way...when i was younger? uhh HELLO i'm 18! and no i don't drink thank you very much beside it being completely irrevelevent) so finally when he realized that i was indeed NOT going to sell it to im becuae it's policy to card anyone who looks under 27 he called someone (a mid aged guy don't think it was his dad cuz the older guy was white and the kid hispanic) and HE starts going off on me saying USE SOME COMMON SENSE you aren't even qualified to fdo your job. i told him i would be more than happy to sell the item to HIM but not to the younger man because he didn't have an id and then the guy goes where's the sign whose rule is that....i YET AGAIN explaned i don't make the rules but am obligated to follow them and he asked me to call a manager so i did but the guy never talked to him anyway...
GOD why when people do dumb things like not carry an id with them when they are buying something that may or may not be an age restricted item do they blame ME and say that i don't have common sense and am not qualified to do my job??? so making exceptions for people against company policy is what i'm SUPPOSED to do? uhhh yeah..THAT'S using common sense alright....UGGGGH

You should have asked him if he drove there tonight, if he says yes, then say "well, I am going to have to call the police because you are driving without a license". I know you cant really do that, but it would be great if you could!

yeah
yeah i know really. it's like apparently it's stupid to ask someone for an id when the register and the LAW prompts u too but walking around without an id and or drivers liscense is totally smart....
What are you talking about? We do that all the time. :Dwheelieman wrote:You should have asked him if he drove there tonight, if he says yes, then say "well, I am going to have to call the police because you are driving without a license". "What is that sir? You are refusing to pay the money that you owe for parking in downtown disney all day? AND you're being a complete moron to us, and rude at that? Well we could always bill you later.. if I could just see your driver's license to get your information. WHAT? You don't have your license? Well in that case I could always call APD out here to speak to you about the situation."

I have to admit, it surprised me that sharpies were age restricted.
Then again, I was also appalled at a Wal*mart recently when they asked me to confirm that no one under 17 would be watching the movie I was buying.
The movie? Feardotcom. I had Strange Days, too, but only Feardotcom apparently triggered their age restriction...stupid.

What? That was just a stupid ASSociate. That is not policy. as for the age restriction prompt on the register it will only do it once. after the first R rated movie or other age restricted item is cleared it will not ask again.sistercoyote wrote:I have to admit, it surprised me that sharpies were age restricted.

yeah sharpies are age restricted..maybe it's a dumb rule but it's still a rule...and yeah that r rated movie thing is not true u don't have to conifrm that no one under 17 would be watching it.....u just have to be 17 or older to buy it
