My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

Re: You Want What?!
Maybe it is a peanut allergy thing? But then again wouldn't the brittle part be manufactured in a factory that processes nuts as well? Mmmm peanut brittle...Syndrome wrote:I haven't been around for a while because I've been insanely busy, but I just had to pop over and share this. A CM friend who works in the candy shop on Main Street had a woman come up to her and ask, "Do you have peanut brittle without any peanuts?"

True, but I remember being in a candy store in Solvang and getting "Almond Brittle" and they had just about every kind of nut available!Ms. Matterhorn wrote:Yes, but we are talking SG here...

Here in Washington we got as many kinds of nuts as you want, some are born with them, some end up with some on the wall and well there are those that have their own farm

We make our own peanut brittle in the Confectionery, and we do advise people with severe nut allergies to avoid any of the products we make ourselves (fudge, rice crispies, apples, strawberries, and peanut brittle) even if that product doesn't itself contain nuts because like you said, they are all prepared on the same surfaces.WhiskeyTangoFoxtrot wrote:Maybe it is a peanut allergy thing? Incidentally, if you want to smell the most heavenly candy smell in the world, come in when the kitchen is making caramel apples or peanut brittle (peanut brittle is made from caramel). The whole Confectionery fills up with it! The smell is stronger when they're making peanut brittle, I'm not sure why.
I've had a lot of guests ask for almond brittle, I've also had guests ask for plain brittle, but I've been lucky enough not to have a guest describe plain brittle as "peanut brittle without the peanuts".

Re: You Want What?!
The fresh fudge is behind the bulk counter; don't get the packaged fudge that's in the display, it's made in a factory somewhere. The same goes for the peanut brittle, the stuff we make is in hand tied bags on a table next to the kitchen, the factory stuff is over on the wall with the Goofy's Candy Company items.February wrote:OMG they make fudge at the confectionary???

Our flavor's of the month this month are Pirate Bone and Cherry Vanilla Walnut, I don't know what the flavors of the month in April are going to be (they don't have a set schedule). My favorite is just the old fashioned Peanut Butter fudge, though.
I'll be quiet now, I get a little excited when I start talking about candy.
