LOVED the Monkees!"Here we come, walk down the street,we get the funniest looks from, everyone we meet!" The actor who played Chekhov(sp) in Star Trek was chosen for his resemblance to one of the Monkees....GRUMPY PIRATE wrote:Captain nice!! Who could not remember the Monkeys?
Of course (and I KNOW it dates me) the ORIGINAL MMC!! Yes Annette, but I did like Karen too!!
Wonderama? never heard of it. Hobo Kelly? Was that a Red Skelton bit? I remember he did a lot of different ones!
Hobo Kelly was the host of an afternoon kid's cartoon show, a cute lady clown with red hair and the show was on at 3 pm every weekday afternoon at least in the LA area. I think both Wonderama and the Banana Splits were both sort of kid's variety shows with cartoons.
And don't forget Kids Are People Too! and Kimba!
And Huckleberry Hound!

I always thought Annette was overrated. But then, I've always thought the normal women where more attractive, not the flashy "hot" ones getting all the attention -- like Bailey on WKRP over Loni Anderson.GRUMPY PIRATE wrote:Of course (and I KNOW it dates me) the ORIGINAL MMC!! Ah, you guys are bringing back memories. Loved Kukla, Fran & Ollie. They were my inspiration to get into puppetry long before the Muppets came along.Theme Park Where wrote:Kukla Fran and Ollie for me! and Puffenstuff. and Land of the Lost.
I also really got into H.R. Puffenstuff, and I remember seeing him "live" on stage at Six Flags over Texas back in the day. Though I must say, I saw an episode again a few months ago for the first time in years, and watching it as an adult convinced me that its creators either invented crack or were early users. Bizarre!
Land of the Lost? I thought it was lame even when it first aired, but... I often watched anyway. Ah, the old days, when we had only a few channels and it was harder to avoid lame shows. :)

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

Everything so far has been for kids. How about late night TV horror movie hostess Elvira, Mistress Of The Dark/

Yes! they wanted someone who looked like Davy Jones! I read somewhere they made him wear a wig at first! I loved the Monkees in reruns. . .too funny. I wish they'd put them on again now.
I heard someone say Muppets. . .now we're talking! :)

I heard they were doing a reality show to pick her successor!
Ah, Elvira. Or as they call her on the Simpsons. . ."Boobarella." LOL
