Wishes and Fantasmic??????????

I was utilizing the wonderful info on Steve Soares site to get some info for March and noticed something. For this week, Fantasmic is only going to be shown a total of 3 times???? Sunday at 7PM and Saturday at 7 and 8;30 Is that normal? I thot they show it everynight the park is open unless there are special events.

Wishes is only listed for 4 days this week. I havent been keeping track of the P&P parties and Wishes isnt usually scheduled on those days but 3 out of 7 days???? That seems unusual. Must be a lot of specials going on in the parks this week.

I was just curious cause that seemed odd for Fantasmic in particular.

I haven't been there in awhile and I can't get on the cast portal right now (because I'm at work at Universal right now :o :) but there was talk of a minor downtime at Fantasmic in early 2008 to do some needed repairs. That could be the case.

My guess for this happening would be the time the park closes on certain nights, and if they would consider it to be dark enough for them to perform the show. I just quickly glanced at the March schedule for the Studios and noticed some periods with the park closing at 7. I'm willing to guess 7 is their borderline time for when they think it is dark enough during that time of the year. Its easier for them to agree to do it on weekends due to the slightly higher crowds they may get.

The same goes for Wishes, just glancing at the Magic Kingdom schedule for March, the only nights I didn't see Wishes being show was because of the Pirates/Princess Party or EMH and the park closing around 7. They prolly have to decide if it is dark enough for the fireworks and are deciding its not going to be.

But thats just my guess.

HMMMMM .....Probably a combo of both of those, down time and the park hours for Fantasmic. Well hopefully Fantasmic will be back up and running nightly in March. I have yet to see it and our DS (disney studios--i like that better as an abbrev...lol) day is on a Monday so maybe we will luck out.

DHS usually plans its park hours around dark time for Fantasmic, so my bet would be normal closure for upkeep. We've even started a smidge late due to "technical difficulties" that actually involved letting it get a tad bit darker out before starting the show.

LOL...those technical difficulties get ya everytime.

Well I still have a month to go but that caught my eye as odd. Thanks for the info. Hopefully you are working that nite so we can come pester ya. :D:

Fantasmic is down this week for a minor rehab.

And yes, there are 3 Pirate and Princess parties this week.

Wishes is down for the Pirates and Princess parties, which have their own fireworks. A few of the Christmas party nights had Wishes at 6, but it was getting dark really early then. It's dark enough at 7 now (that's when they are doing Spectromagic on the nights the do it) but at 7 on the party nights they are trying to encourage the non-party guests to leave, so fireworks at 7 would be counter-productive.
