Ready for a fight...

Ever had that guest approach you so riled up he was looking for confrontation? Well I was working night PAC and was on the chute at the MS bridge to the hub, basically keeping it clear. This man comes up in an empty stroller and stands behind the obviously full roped off area. I asked him to move to the other side of the rope, in that Disney kind but firm way. Suddenly he's screaming "I'm tired of you f'ing idiots..." And a long string of expletives. When he paused for breath, I smiled and nod, "Ok sure, now on the other side of the rope." That made he even angrier, because one of the guests heard that and chuckled! Of course, I'm not one bit worried, I'm tall and broad-shouldered and never have physical confrontations. Anyways he just pops his top and gets nastier. So I lean over and say, "Too bad, on the other side of the rope please, there are guests trying to walk through." The combination of stonewalling and guilt (there definitely were guests that couldn't pass) worked, his protests dropped and he acquiesced finally.

My point is he came with a hot temper, that happen to anyone else?

I love those kind of guests

Every night at Wishes it seems they all want to fight. "I don't care you are letting me through" uhh no I'm not. "The rest of my family is there you can;t keep me from them" Yes I can, especially because they are not there. The area is completely clear of all guests. You can wait for them on your side of the ropes.

I remeber when I was in training after getting hired at Knott's they told us that if a guest takes a swing at us, to just take the hit. That should've been my first clue. And one time a guest actually did take a swing at me. I had their whole stinkin' party arrested. If you've heard this story before, yes, it's the one where some biotch decided she was going to ride the train even after closing and the train had just been dispatched to the roundhouse. I ended up with a strained wrist and was on restricted duty for six weeks.

OMG, closing Wishes can be an absolute nightmare! I love the people who take off full-tilt for the ropes, duck under and keep running. It's the only job where you can get a GSF for clotheslining a guest! (Better petite me closelining than being tackled by fireworks crew!) They always say they didn't see the ropes. If they didn't see the ropes, they would be on the ground in pain right about now. I was glad when they finally added the second rope, that has stopped the majority of the rope ducking behavior.

It's a little amusing how they will stand there and yell at you, even after you tell them the area is a fall out zone and closed for their safety. They spend so much time yelling at us about how it takes too long to go around that they could be out the gate on their way home before they give up!

My thoughts exactly! And if they want me to take a hit, the company's gonna get their ass sued off by me! (I shoulda taken my sister's offer to have her attorney boss go after Knott's after that happened.)
