Resistance is futile.

My house is a friggen shrine to everything Disney! I wear Disney shirts, shoes, hats, socks, shorts, jackets...They don't make underwear in my size, just for kids, DARN!!!! I would love some Mickey Thongs! No I don't wear those things. OH HELL NO!!!!!!!!

We have Disney swag on every surface in the house, tables, shelves, night stands, counters, even the walls and floors. It is everywhere and I don't even have ALL my stuff out...We even have kitchen utensils, plates, cups, drinking glasses, bowls...It is EVERYWHERE and I LOVE it!!!! :bouncemic :mickey2:

But really, what is NOT to love about Disney, except the huge price tag for a trip to the magic. Long Live the Mouse! Long Live the Mouse! :p:

That's what I was thinking. So how would they trace it back to him? Sounds fishy to me, I mean like Atlantic Salmon, not Coho.

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

I was trying to find you some nice Coho salmon when I came to visit last October, BW, but all I could find was Atlantic salmon, and I knew that you would know the difference, so I didn't bother. :D:

Then this must be the men's room in Fantasyland.

felinefan wrote:Susi, how much did Tawny's I-131 treatment cost? I wish I had the money to get my cat Tripod done, since the nearest facility is less than 3 miles from me. How close do you live to --oops, brain fart..the vet hospital from "Emergency Vets"--Alameda East? I know Denver is pretty spread out, and it's in Aurora, a suburb of Denver. I realize how much something costs depends on geography but I want a ballpark figure.
How long did Tawny have to stay, and what instructions did they give you--do you have to stay 3' from her and wash your hands after petting her and keep her out of your bedroom? Here in California we can't flush used cat litter down the toilet, what about over there? I once read in Cat Fancy there was this guy in NY who didn't flush his cat's litter after radioiodine treatment, the "hot" litter in the trash set off a radiation detector alarm, and he ended up paying a fine of over $3000. Forgot to hit PM, sorry about that....
We had it done at Alameda East here in Denver. They stay in iso at the Vet Hospital for 3 full days, (72 hours). Then, they come home and you can have limited contact of a cumulative time of 10 minutes per day for the first week. For the second week, you are allowed 20 minutes cumulative time per day. You need to wash up after the 10 minutes and the 20 minutes of touching your cat. And you have to save their litter for three months in a container before disposing of it. It CANNOT go down the flusher. We never flush the litter anyway. They really want you to keep the cat's neck area where the thyroid is AWAY as much as possible, from your thyroid area in the neck during those first two weeks. After that two week period, it goes back to your normal routine.
The cost including the first 3 days of iso in the hospital was $1199.00 at our hospital. It is pretty much the same most places.

It helped Tawny sooo....much because her heart murmur went away and our Vet, Dr.Santen, said we definitely added years to her life. It also helped with her kidney function. She has been on a kidney diet because her kidney values were way off and now they are back to normal. The thyroid has a major effect on many of things in the body. It is a good thing to do for a cat with thyroid problems.

I had a cat long ago that had thyroid issues and I could not afford the I-131 treatment, so I kept her on Tapazole and she lived to 17. She was never very robust after her thyroid function went south.

Tawny however has lots of energy and she is gaining weight and she is *fat, happy and sassy* :D: It really was a life saver for her.

We are about 20 miles from Alameda East. It takes us a good half hour to get there. We live on the northwest side of Denver, Alameda East is on the...east side of Denver. We started going there while I was in school at Bel-Rea and we just kept them as our vet. They are phenomenal, but really expensive. The Vets are so good there. And of course Dr. Fitzgerald is mighty cute!!!!! ;) Dr Santen is such a dear and loves our kitties. He really misses Orion. He cried right along with us when Orion pased. Most everyone at Alameda East did. Orion was a regular and they all knew him amd loved him. He was very popular with the techs, cause he was so easy to draw blood from and take samples. He was just so mellow and loved everyone there. It was his second home. He is missed by the whole staff. There is a picture of Orion there at the hospital. :)

Okay, the radiation sensor was at the processing facility, and they traced the guy through--surprise, surprise--the mail he'd thrown in with the rest of his garbage that had his name and address on it.

Yeah, Susi, I like Dr. Fitzgerald too! I just love that voice of his! Oh, and he's darn funny, too!

The nearest "celebrity vet" in my area is Dr. Elaine Wexler-Mitchell, who writes a regular column in Cat Fancy magazine, "Ask the Vet." But she's not my cat Tripod's vet.

I have Yahoo as my ISP, and they have a Ratings and Recommendations page. I was reading the ones for vets and animal hospitals, and I noticed that most of the Banfields inside of PetSmart are horrible; only like about three of them got good ratings. There are some awful vets, like the one where this one person had their family look after their dog for a bit, and they took the dog to the vet and had it put down, though it was sick, it wasn't that bad. When he found out, he went to the vet, expecting to get his dog's ashes, and they handed him the dog's body in a black trash bag. He totally lost it.

I tried putting a good report for my vet--someone else already had--and I had the dangedest time getting it on, I finally had to put it on as a comment to the previous rating. Yahoo has some pretty good features, but their tech support leaves something to be desired. I try to send emails concerning my inability to access my Yahoo mail, and keep running into a message saying tech support is having "temporary" problems, and to "try again in a few minutes." I asked a question on that on Answers, but have yet to recieve an answer. Someone had a similar question, and they said go back to classic mail. I tried that, and couldn't get to it from there, either. I'm not sure if I'm gonna renew my subscription this fall, even if my BIL does work for AT&T (but in the phone division).
