Remember a long time ago when we were discussing airplanes and I mentioned something about cloud crawlers that live in the clouds and sometimes they get on a plane's wings and that's what causes it to crash? Well, that Twilight Zone episode is where the cloud crawlers are from.
At least that's what my ex use to tell my son when he was little. No wonder the kid had a fear of flying for awhile. But I still think of that whenever I fly through clouds. I have to look out the window and make sure there are no cloud crawlers trying to bring the plane down.

One of my favorite stories, and I don't remember if it was Twilight Zone or Amazing Stories, was the lady who bought a little hunter doll that came to life and tried to attack her. It chased her all over her house and every time she thought she'd killed it, the thing came back to life. I think she ended up throwing it in the oven and burning it, but when she opened the oven door all this smoke rolled out and the next thing you know, the lady (was it Karen Black?) is crouching in the corner holding a spear and she has turned into the hunter doll. Creepy! Makes you want to check under the bed before you go to sleep.
The other good story was the one about the human cookbook. Eek!

In the original story, they were called gremlins! Which was way before the movie of the same name. And the first one to experience it was William Shatner!

Yup, Trilogy of Terror sounds familiar.

I recently read the paperback version of I Am Legend, and I didn't know when I bought it that I Am Legend was only one of several creepy short stories in the book. One of them was the voodoo doll story.

Ms. Matterhorn wrote:The first three stories were created for the movie. Only the last, with Lithgow, was a remake of an original Twilight Zone episode. In the original, it was a young William Shatner who portrayed the panicky flyer.

Being old enough to remember the original twilight zone, I remember that all episodes except the first were remakes. Billy Mumy played Anthony in the original episode in the sixties, the kid who controlled everything.
AND Billy Mumy was in the TZ movie in that segment as well. He was playing the video game in the beginning of the segment.

Okay, so I went down to my library and pulled "The Amazing Stories, First Season" DVD to watch. I will put it in the player today, if Ralphie does not take me to "Enchanted". Isn't it sad that I have not seen this Princess movie yet? I will buy the DVD when it is out and watch it over and over on our big screen TV here. It is like being in the theatre with our 64 inch screen! Yeehaw!!!!!!

A Side Note:
Today, Ralphie has to take Tawny for her checkup after the radioactive iodine treatment that she had while we were at Dl at Christmas!. She has been doing GREAT! What a relief! She is fine and no more thyroid problems. Even her appetite is up and she is getting chubby! They say it even slows down the kidney disease. So that is a great relief for us. I am so happy my little girl is doing well. :)

Anyhoo....
I sadly did not have "Twilight Zone, The Movie" in my DVD library, but have already remedied that! I went over to Barnes and Noble.com amd ordered several DVDs with my Christmas gift card my mom gave me for B&N. She knows that is my favorite present. She got one for me and one for Ralph. :D:

So the DVDs are going out today and I should have them in several days. I also found two of my ALL TIME favorite films EVER. Two Malcom McDowell (of Stanley Kubrick's "Clockwork Orange" fame). The other two films with Malcom McDowell are "If" and "Oh, Lucky Man". These are superb films and I saw them way back in the 1970's. I have wanted them forever and found them at B&N.com. YAY!!!!! It will sheer pleasure to see these films again.

Another good fim to see is "Hugo Pool". It is fascinating. Very different and enjoyable. I have a penchant for off the wall movies. One of my very favorites is "My Name is Nobody with Henry Fonda and Terence Hill! What a great movie! It is a western, but a very esoteric western. It will make you roll with laughter!
So I cannot wait to watch "Twilight Zone, The Movie" again when it arrives!

I clipped this Bizarro comic strip that appeared in the 1/21/08 L.A. Times, but since I don't have a scanner and don't know how (yet) to take it from the site to this one (King Features), it shows two Mickeys in space suits aboard a spaceship, talking to a third Mickey on a screen. One of the two says,"Our takeover of Earth is nearly complete." The leader replies, "Are you sure? That's what the invaders from Planet Smiley Face thought." And if you wanna see something really scary, go to the cartoonist Dan Piraro's site at bizarro.com, and see what the little symbols he puts in his strips mean. In this one, he has the eyeball, K2, the firecracker, and the pie slice. It gives credence to the expression, "There's a fine line between genius and madness."

I saw that comic! I was going to dispute it, but then just this morning it dawned on me, as I had my wife's van (with the Minnie decal on it) inspected, I was wearing a Mickey cap, windbreaker, and watch. And paying with a Disney Visa card.

Resistance is futile.
