But your story would have been easy to check out, if the CM had called security. Besides, just tell them you post of SGT, and you are home free!! (hehehe)Rob562 wrote:I kinda ran into this on my last trip. I was in WDW during the "MouseFest" weekend, but only participated in one event, and mostly because it was organized by a friend of mine. After the event, there was a grab-bag of goodies for the participants, mostly stuff procured from Company D or the big "SALSA" CM clearance sale. Because there were a lot less people attending than had been planned, I ended up with at least half a dozen little trinkets. On my way through Liberty Square I stopped into one of the stores and asked for a bag to put the stuff in. She gave me an odd look, so I quickly gave her a shortened version of the story and she gave me a bag but again with an odd glance. I still think she thought I was trying to shoplift stuff....
Of course if asked to show the stuff, I didn't have a receipt and some things even still had old price tags on them... Though none were still for sale in the parks, and none were from her store. (Heck, one of them was a Contemporary Resort luggage tag. You'd have to wonder just where in the park I'd gotten THAT one) ;)

Re: It's just a bag!!!
As someone who once worked as a security guard, with half the posts being in a retail environment, if people are going to shoplift, they don't just go with the bag. Pockets, sleeves, backpacks, purses, strollers, etc.. are used to hide swag. I remember one time some kids were caught throwing school supplies to a couple of buddies on the other side of the fence near the nursery department. When confronted by undercover security, they pointed to a nearby sign and said they were making a purchase pickup. EEEEEHHHHHHHRRRRRRTTTTTT!!!!!! Close, but no cigar! It would amaze you how crafty shoplifters can get when they are determined to steal something.

Since I'll be working in Merchandise for my upcoming CP, I'm quite sure I'll have to deal with this a lot. I only hope it's as painless as possible.
For Narnia! And for Aslan!

We give out extra bags all the time, especially to Japanese tourists (who usually want a little bag for each item because they give them out as gifts.) No one has ever told us not to give out extra bags.
