That must have been what the CM was referring to!, I would imagine that a flatbed would do the trick!!(or prrbably an enclosed truck would be more appropriate!)Polar33 wrote:Indeed, Disneyland does perform it's own maintenance on it's parade units. Disneyland has sent parade floats to Florida in the past for example the Lion King parade, Main Street Electrical Parade, and at this very moment Block Party Bash. I'm sure that after the floats have made that trip a bit of refurbishment and repair is in order.
What is this doing at Disney World?!?

Yup, and now the Lion King parade is no longer a parade. It's all indoors at Camp Minnie-Mickey. Belongs in Africa, thank you very much.
My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

Let us not forget the hippobottomlesses.Shorty82 wrote:Really? I always figured that each park built and repaired their own floats for the most part. At least repair them, doesn't make sense to ship them across the country to repair them as that would take a lot longer and I would think cost a lot more than having their own repair shops.
I've seen the float storage and maintenance area and some of the ride repair areas in the Magic Kingdom about 7-8 years ago now on the Keys tour. My uncle, who was an engineering CM at the time, showed me the large shop where they build and repair parts of rides. I saw a Winnie the Pooh honey pot, Small World dolls, and Carrousel horses being worked on among other things. This was while Mission:Space was being built and I saw a long line of ride vehicles for it in various stages of construction (from barely a frame at one end to a nearly complete vehicle at the other).

Block Party Bash has gone????...Oooooooooooh, Dreams REALLY DO come true in this Year of a Million Dreams! :D: ahhhhhhhhhhhh.....Polar33 wrote:Indeed, Disneyland does perform it's own maintenance on it's parade units. That is the noisiest, loudest, disorganized mess of a parade I have ever watched. Actually, it is organized, but it is just too all over the place and LOUD! And I won't have to hear it at DCA at the end of the month. I hope it comes back to DL by May when we go to WDW. Where in WDW are they showing that Parade? (No offense to any CMs who have roles in that Parade!), it is just not my cup o' tea. It is really loud. I like Spectromagic and The Electrical Parade and The Parade of Dreams is fun. Mickey's jammin' Jungle Parade is cool too. :)

Yep, it's replacing the Disney Stars and Motorcars parade at DHS.

Ahh, damn it! I didn't get to see Stars and Motorcars on my last visit and was hoping to see it the next time I made it down.Theme Park Where wrote:Yep, it's replacing the Disney Stars and Motorcars parade at DHS.
Though, a little Googling makes it look like BPB is interesting.

There's always YouTube! :D: Not nearly the same as being there in person, but it's better than not having seen it at all.Shorty82 wrote:Ahh, damn it! I didn't get to see Stars and Motorcars on my last visit and was hoping to see it the next time I made it down.
