Big Wallaby wrote:Okay, so back to the original topic for a second... I guess Disneyland has stuff on their tractors that WDW wants, and WDW has stuff on the tram trains that DL wants, so they did a swap for research and technology sharing.

Seems like it would have been easier and cheaper to send people...

So if anyone sees a WDW tram train at DL, please send a pic.
Huh? I always figured that the designs of the trams came from WDI. It looks like the DL tram is more modern and I was thinking that maybe they tried them out at DL were trams are used a lot less and fewer of them to work out the bugs and all before deploying them at WDW.

I seem to remember a CM telling us about sending floats from DL to WDW for refurbishment and repair? This was a few years ago, and I was wondering if they do that still. On the behind the Magic tour, they showed us the shops that repair and refurbish the rides and other attractions!!

Really? I always figured that each park built and repaired their own floats for the most part. At least repair them, doesn't make sense to ship them across the country to repair them as that would take a lot longer and I would think cost a lot more than having their own repair shops.

I've seen the float storage and maintenance area and some of the ride repair areas in the Magic Kingdom about 7-8 years ago now on the Keys tour. My uncle, who was an engineering CM at the time, showed me the large shop where they build and repair parts of rides. I saw a Winnie the Pooh honey pot, Small World dolls, and Carrousel horses being worked on among other things. This was while Mission:Space was being built and I saw a long line of ride vehicles for it in various stages of construction (from barely a frame at one end to a nearly complete vehicle at the other).

You do know she swallowed the spider to catch a fly, I dont know why she swallowed a fly, perhaps she'll die.

Here is the whole poem/story/song

There was an old lady who swallowed a fly.
I dunno why she swallowed that fly,
Perhaps she'll die.

There was an old lady who swallowed a spider,
That wriggled and jiggled and wiggled inside her.
She swallowed the spider to catch the fly.
But I dunno why she swallowed that fly -
Perhaps she'll die.

There was an old lady who swallowed a bird;
How absurd, to swallow a bird!
She swallowed the bird to catch the spider
That wriggled and jiggled and wiggled inside her.
She swallowed the spider to catch the fly.
But I dunno why she swallowed that fly -
Perhaps she'll die

There was an old lady who swallowed a cat.
Imagine that, she swallowed a cat.
She swallowed the cat to catch the bird ...
She swallowed the bird to catch the spider
That wriggled and jiggled and wiggled inside her.
She swallowed the spider to catch the fly.
But I dunno why she swallowed that fly
Perhaps she'll die

There was an old lady who swallowed a dog.
What a hog! To swallow a dog!
She swallowed the dog to catch the cat...
She swallowed the cat to catch the bird ...
She swallowed the bird to catch the spider
That wriggled and jiggled and wiggled inside her.
She swallowed the spider to catch the fly.
But I dunno why she swallowed that fly
Perhaps she'll die.

There was an old lady who swallowed a goat.
Just opened her throat and swallowed a goat!
She swallowed the goat to catch the dog ...
She swallowed the dog to catch the cat.
She swallowed the cat to catch the bird ...
She swallowed the bird to catch the spider
That wriggled and jiggled and wiggled inside her.
She swallowed the spider to catch the fly.
But I dunno why she swallowed that fly
Perhaps she'll die.

There was an old lady who swallowed a cow.
I don't know how she swallowed a cow!
She swallowed the cow to catch the goat... She swallowed the goat to catch the dog...

There was an old lady who swallowed a horse -
She's dead, of course.

Wasn't that theme explored by Oggie Boggie? (eating spiders and bugs?)
