Thanks everyone for the replies - and Big Wallaby for the kind welcome! Sorry for the misspelling of your name Zazu - I'm learning!

since we won't be having a car this trip I think I will go with putting an order into Garden Grocer (from what I have read they will even deliver beer which is outrageously priced at the resorts, sorry Pirate - hubby's a brewski guy - can't do rum)

Susie- You will love staying at the YC! This will be our 5th time there, we love it! The CM's are great and we have always had the best mousekeepers! I gave my kids the choice of staying anywhere when I started planning this trip and they said that they wanted to back to the YC. It may have something to do with Storm Along Bay - Last visit was in December '05 and they swam 4 or 5 times (even in the evening once when it was pretty darn chilly!).

Cheers-
~Luthien

susislicker wrote:If you stay concierge at the Deluxe resorts, you can get all the beverages and bottled water you want to take with you to the Parks from the concierge lounge! They have so many goodies, you could make a meal of it! And you will get coffee packets, and all the condiments to go with coffee in your room with a coffemaker, so you won't even have to leave the room to get coffee in the morning when you have bedhead and halitosis! :p:

Concierge is grand way to stay in a Disney resort! The Contemporary can't be beat for service, we had less than stellar service at the Boardwalk and will be at the Yacht Club this year along with the Contemporary. I think we have our days now. May 2-May 22 half the trip at the Giant Toaster and half at Yacht. I MUST swim in Stormalong Bay! I must!!!!! I gazed longinly at it the last time we came because we were at the Boardwalk and went over to the Yacht to look around and catch our Illuminations boat cruise from their dock! Me likey the The Yacht Club. The trip after this one coming up, I want to stay at Animal Kingdom, so I can enjoy the Sunrise and Sunset safaries. And maybe a stint at the Poly. Have not stayed there yet, although we did do the Spirit of Aloha luau dinner there. It was cornball, but fun and the food was great! I also want to do the Hoop-de-do Barbecue this trip at Wilderness. And if my back is up to it, do some horseback riding there! So much to plan...So much fun! :D: I LOVE WDW!!!! It is becoming my fave, because there is so much more to do there and I want to live nearby and work there! :D:
I still love DL for being the original, but WDW is fast becoming more attractive a destination. I LOVE Florida!!!! What can I say?
susi :p:
DW and I have been staying exclusively at the Poly Concierge since 2000. We had been staying there since 1993, (married at the resort) and strayed to a few other resorts over the years, but always liked the poly best. We upgraded to Concierge in 2000 and found that it suited us perfectly. (The in-room coffee is terrible!) and the stuff in the lounge is not much better. The only good place is the Kona Coffee bar in the lobby of the great house (IMHO)
But I like good coffee, not that stuff that coffeebucks sells!

We all know Boardwalk has better servic than poly and that Contemporary is the premiere spot to stay with exceptional views and service.

When we had to go back and forth to Boston, DW introduced me to "coffee regular and a Twist!" Mmmmm Must admit they do have good coffee! WE stopped by one near the hotel and got one every day!

There is one that I know of here in San Diego, and they serve mud! Saw it while working one day, so stopped by, big letdown!!

Hmmmmm. With all due respect. The Poly service has always been exceptional, and the staff very friendly. Plus the view from the Hawaiian great house cant be beat. (For us) We got married on "the point" before they had the wedding pavillion, so we get a room with a view of that, and the Magic Kingdom, of course!!

Having stayed at the Poly at last, I can understand now why everyone raves about it. Love it, love it, love it!

Haven't done the concierge room, but we were thrilled with our Rarotonga rooms, on the first floor right next to the Great House! (As will be posted soon in our trip report.)

That is soo true, I feel like we can relax there!! The only reasons we get the Concierge is for the location of the view, and we are light breakfast eaters. Going for snacks and water is a good thing for us, as we don't really have a set schedule on dining!
