Official SGT ADD thread

A place to be entertained. Videos, jokes, games, and more.
Forum rules
At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.

Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

I hope that the next time they do a bit more in controlling the pain for you. It would seem that the eaiser way is to do a bit more sedation before the procedure!!
Well, that WAS the idea, but the amount they administered just did not do it for me. Next time they need to check the amounts of meds I am on and up the sedation, IF there even is a next time, which is doubtful. I have one other option which would require a surgical room and an official anesthesiologist. They would adminster ansesthesia to be put completley out and do the injection, that would be pretty extensive though and not really optimal for just an injection. And they want you to be somewhat alert to tell them if you feel the steroid in the nerve all the way down. You could not do that being out.

Sooooo...I just hope this shot works, or I will opt for surgical exploration to fix the disk and to scrape out the arthritic bone in my spine. No more f'ing around with these damn shots. I can't take it. I freak...what can I say. Does that sound like post trauma stress that I experienced? I don't know what the hell it was. Never been through that kind of freak out reaction after anything.

I love Mrs. Fields cookies and they just closed down several stores here. We have to go far away to get them now. I love the choc chip with nuts and the peanut butter choc chip ones. I'll join the Dark Side for some Mrs. Fields cookies! :waves: Oh, yes I will!!!!!! ;)

Mmmmmmmmm...Cheesecake Hershey kisses???? WHERE DO YOU GET THOSE?? I am sending Ralph to the store to explore and find them RIGHTNOW!!!!!! I just know I will love them, and I am on a diet, so this will suck for me! I need, NO, MUST try this new delicious offering from the Hershey people. What? Do they know I am on a diet and HAVE to eat them. It is their dirty little way of dragging me to that Dark Side Hobie is talking about! :hysteria:
susi*I GIVE up on my diet, there are too many good things to eat*slicker

(I don't really give up on my diet, I will just *try* one, or maybe 2...maybe 5...7, that will do it. YEAH, Riiiiiiiiiiiiiight!)

I am holding steady with my weight, at least not puting more on. It fluctuates everyday as usual with fluid gain and I don't put more on, but it stays between two weights right now. Now if I can exercise, I will start dropping pounds. I have been doing upper body toning and strengthening, but I have not ben able to do any crunches or any lower body exercises that affect the spine and that is most of them. Sooooooo...if the shot works I will be dusting my exercise room and start using all that equipment down there in the basement. We have a great home gym and I need to use it. Maybe I need a Physical Trainer to come in and keep me working out. I have so little discipline now, after being sedentary for some 3 years or so. Bad.
I just pray that the pain stays away and in a week or so, I can start on the machines again! :) That will make me feel good. And I will start on the treadmill first! Cardio is great! And I love to jog. So I will start out slowly and work my way up! :)

Mmmmmmmmm...YOU are making me hungry for sweets! A BIG NO-NO. I have my snack in front of me...A half of a banana, half an orange and half a Gala apple. But Cheesecake Chocolate kisses sound so much better. Although I cannot eat too much chocolate, I get a tummy ache from it. Ralphie is a chocoholic. He can eat a half pound box of See's chocolate at one sitting. He does not mess around with regular sized chocolate bars. He gets those giant ones and eats one all at once. I would be hurling if I ate that much chocolate at once. I can have about 3 chocolates from a box and I am done. Now, Good and Plenty, Tutti Frutti Jelly bellies, lemon drops and Mickey Mousse lollipops (you get at Disneyland for 50 cents) I can go at forever. And also kettle corn and Crunch and Munch and Fiddle Faddle and (Screaming Yellow Zonkers, though those are hard to find now.) :p: Yum, candy!!!! I must eat my fruit now. I actually love fresh fruit. :liplick:

Okay, susi, now I'm sorry I asked for all the gory details. Now I'm scared to death to get the shots. Everyone I know says they are painful, or at least the numbing shot can be quite painful. I'm glad the first one is working for you and hopefully you won't have to get any more, although the series of 3 is supposed to work much better and longer than the single shot.

I'm going to go eat a cookie and make myself feel better. No more talk of shots and pain and agony, okay?

Well, it was interesting. The flavor combo was good. I think if I would have not let it sit so long it would hve tasted better. The cookie got a little TOO crispy from microwaving. It was soft when it came out. TSK TSK, all the more reason for me to have another. LOL

SIGH....they are all gone now...WAAAHHHHH!!!! They did taste rather yummy combined with the crumb bits from a bag of Sea salt and Malt vinegar kettle chips. OK I am weird, but the salty sweet thing just rocked.

Don't be scared! I'm sorry I scared you! :( The numbing shot is painful, but it is over quick. I just have a really, really low tolerance to pain, so it was horrendous for me. AND I thought I would be a little sedated, but those drugs did not work on me, because I have too many other heavy meds I am taking. You should be fine, just grit your teeth (actually don't grit your teeth, Breathe in and out, but do not hyperventilate...hahahahaha) through the first lidocaine shot and the rest is just uncomfortable and huge pressure and achy. :(

I freaked because the sedation did not work and I am terrified of needles and pain. So if you need the shots, you should get them. Do NOT let this scare you. Everyone is right, the first shot is painful, there is NO way it can not be. They are sticking you with a sharp needle in a spot that hardly ever sees sunlight and is very sensitive. Even the sedation is not going to make it not hurt, but it will make you more relaxed and calm. It should have for me, but did not and I panicked really badly when it didn't work. I knew it was going to be like the Kaiser one I had and I swore I would never do it that way again. Well, it happened. But it won't again, I promise you. I WILL make sure they up the dose of sedation or I won't do it. Period. Surgery will be next for me if they cannot accommodate a highwer dose of sedation for those who need it. They should be able to do that!

I am alot better today. At least I am not reliving it my head over and over and I am not sweating and shaking like I was all afternoon yesterday. That HAD to be post trauma stress, it was like nothing I have ever experienced in my life. I was freaked for the rest of the day! Very, Very weird!
sues :)

You have some weird taste buds there, Vixen! LOL! I like chocolate covered pretzels, salty and chocolaty sweet. Malt Vinegar chips? I would NOT eat those alone. ICK! and to mix it with cookies and salt and chocolate kisses?

Some Imagination, huh!

LOL! You are too funny! I think I am going to have a little bit of Crunch and Munch this afternnon after lunch which is now. Lunch today is Chocolate Royale Slimfast! Mmmmmmmmm..Dinner will be Strawberry Slimfast! Mmmmmmmmmm....Breakfast tomorrow, maybe Vanilla Slimfast!Mmmmmmmmmmm...What a diet. I want to try Nutrisystems. I think I am going to look into it. Then I will be eating food again. Although I did a subway sandwich (thanks Jerod) last night for dinner and could not eat the whole thing, because my stomach has shrunk due to my Slimfast diet.

I used to be able to put away the food. I ate more than my two brothers could. I love food and I used to be able to eat 2 giant plates of spagetti and an eggplant Parmigiana and tiramisu for dessert after starting with an appetizer. NO more. I could do the appetizer and the eggplant now and that's it. :(

Kinda sad cause I LOVE good food and we are going to the Bay Area at the end of this next trip and ALL my favorite restaurants are there, Sicilian, Mediteranean, Mongolian Barbeque, and Italian. My favorite deli in the whole world that carries Cannoli is there. WAAAAAH! BOO HOO!!!!!! I will eat when I am there. I have to. I am not going to deny myself. I will just eat fruit and slimfast for breakfast and lunch or dinner and do one good big meal a day for lunch or dinner! That sounds like a great plan! :D:
sues :p:
