Maybe you can get some of these if you make it to Hawaii.

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

<claps> More, more, more!!!

I have not been to DL since 1984. I love trip reports, but I usually forget what we did on what day, or where we were when we saw the SG's! :)

Pretty flowers! I would like that!

They were doing cool projections of snowflakes on the Disneyland Hotel towers. This is the Magic (formerly known as Marina) Tower from our sliding glass door!

Image

You can see where it says Disneyland Hotel under the projected snowflakes! It went on the whole Christmas season there. Quite a light show, since there were no fireworks, except on the 24th, the week we were there. Damn Santa Ana winds.

Image

Here is one more shot of the room looking the other direction. You can see the reflections in the sliding glass doors next to the curtains. See that bedspread? We were able to buy one this trip, brand spanking new, cause they had enough in stock. I have wanted one forever and I bet they will be changing everything out when they do the refurb on the hotel. It is going to be a whole new hotel!

One more picture of the projections in front of the Sorcerer's Hat at the side of the Hotel!

This was the Christmas tree in Downtown Disney right across from the ESPN Zone and on the outside of the Dreams Tower where we stayed. You can see the Concierge level elevator on the hotel. That elevator goes only from ground floor to the Concierge Lounge, a great place to get snacks and water and a great breakfast to start the day. We always stay concierge level at DLHotel, because you get great service and we know the CMs there so well.

The next day was the 21st, our first full day at the Resort. But first a anecdote:
When we got in the night before, were tired and very hungry, but first things must come first! I HAD to lie down and try to get my back to stop hurting so much. It did not work very well as I had just done way too much that day, but we thought we would try to go eat at Goofy's Kitchen anyway, since we had ADRs there. We got over to the place and I sat down because my back was literally going out on me. I was in so much pain, I told Ralph to just ask if we could get some to-go containers and get our food and go. They said no problem and a CM came to get us. Ralph told her I could not walk far and I needed to get out as fast as possible, because I was in terrible pain. She asked how we wanted to do this, she could get us the to-go boxes and we could get our food, OR she could seat us at a table and get the boxes and we could get our food. By this time, the tears were squeezing out of my eyes, since it had been a very long day of sitting and going through airports, even with a wheelchair. I told her we wanted the fastest way to get our food. She said to follow her. I don't know how many of you have been in Goofy's kitchen, but it is a large restaurant and winds around to the back which is not a LONG way, but it is if you cannot walk. She walked us to the back of the restaurant. Now mind you, the Buffet area to get your food is about half the way back. So she starts turning around another winding corner to go even further back and I had had it. I turned around and went back to the room, tears streaming down my face and in the meantime, it had also started to rain. So I went outside and walked in the rain back to the room which was on the other side of the Neverland Pool area. I was furious and still hungry and went to bed.
In the meantime, Ralph stayed there and asked her what the heck she was doing. After I left, he got pissed and said, "I told you my wife was in pain and she told you we needed to get out of here as quickly as possible and you lead us all the way to the back and then you are going to get our to-go boxes and we have to walk all the way back up to the front!!!" She apologized to him and he went to the Lead and told him what happened. He gave Ralph our meal tickets back and apologized up and down. Ralph eventually went to ESPN Zone for a burger and I just slept. I was hurting so bad, I cried myself to sleep. THAT is how much my back can hurt if I do too much. :(
So, our first evening was not so good, but we got some rest and were ready for the next day...We had the Walk In Walt's Footsteps tour scheduled for 9:30AM and we also had a breakfast scheduled at Goofy's Kitchen for 7AM. :D:
More to come...

Good shots!!! Who took them. You or Raffle? Or did you both just snap away when you had the camera?

I took all the pics with a Canon Sureshot point and shoot camera. I want a good camera though to get better pictures. I can take some pretty decent shots, but I click away and take lots of the same to get a good one. They turned out okay. Thanks for the compliment, GP! :D:

No problem!! We kinda do the same thing, we used to schlep a lot of big heavy camers and gear around but got REALLY tired of it. we transitioned to Digital and got some cameras very similer to the sureshot. now all we do is snap away and edit out the bad ones.

Sounds like your first night there was not that fun. You should have just stayed in the room and made Raffle bring you stuff!!! Food, chocolate, Ice cream, Mickey treats, you know, the basic food groups!!!
