yeah i've been hit...but I hit back...and some other stories

Post by Boy1nterrupted » Tue Apr 27, 2004 12:59 pm

Well I have a couple of stories about CM's being hit...
The first story takes place my first summer at the park in '97 during guest control for Fantasmic. I was working "the pit" infront of pirates where it gets pretty hectic hence the name. I politely asked this guy to move through the walkway and he replied, "make me." So I gestured him to get under the rope into the viewing area and he refused. So I got my lead. The lead told the guy the same thing and the guy snapped...threw a sucker punch that the lead was totally ready for, got the guy in a hammerlock and proceeded to floor the guy face first onto the ground. It was great! The lead had this guy by the arm and his hair and shoved his face into the pavement. The lead then proceeded to taunt him by saying "See, now you look like an asshole and a pussy infront of your girlfriend!" Ahh the good old days!

Well, for my stories...I was once up at foyer at the mansion where this punk kid around my age(i was only a punk kid outside work) hocks this huge lugie and spits it right at my feet.
I asked if he had a problem and he told me that I was his problem and got in my face. So I thought nothing of it and decked him right in the nose infront of a full queue of people. My hand hurt so bad! He and his friend bolted...and people asked if it was a joke. I ER'd so I could ice my hand. I told the lead that my hand got slammed in the hallway door to tower.

Man, come to think of it...i have alot of stories of CM's hitting guest...ie the one time i hit a guest in the face with a paddle(on accident of course!)....or the time one of my good friends hit a ride stop on mansion because he saw a guy hitting his girlfriend...and proceeded to go to the graveyard and knock out two of his teeth. ...the best part was he got suspended for leaving tower...and not assaulting a guest. many more to come...

I HATE MEAN GUESTS! I was helping out at DCA turnstyles on day because they were busy at the opening. I was workign with two other leads and we were running around trying to suck the lines in. Then out of nowhere i hear this scram and see one of my other leads go to the ground and a FREAKIN ANNUAL PASSHOLE taking off into DTD with her RADIO AND ID. What a b**ch. Myself and one other lead chased her through DTD all the way to the parking lot behind Rainforrest before APD showed up because our security could not physicly stop her. Turns out she slapped the other lead for revoking her annual pass for misuse.

Another time i working in a ticket booth and a guy got mad that we didn't offer a disocunt for AAA, or plice or whatever the heck it was. And hit my window like 3 times. Then security rolled out and took him away. Scared the crap out of me since the window is just glass. Not even bulletproof!!!

LOL...I got some good stories. It was around Christmas time a few years back when we used to have Package Express at the resort. I was the lead at Newsstand and the fireworks had just ended. Naturally we had a HUGE line and if my memory serves me correct we actually had stanchions and ropes set up for a queue. This guest walks up and hands us a slip for his packages and we tell him to move to the side it'll be just a few minutes. Not even three minutes later the guest becomes irrate and demands to talk to me because he had been waiting too long. I calmly told him with the large volume of guests we were getting right now its going to take a little longer than usual. I dont think the guest was too happy with this response. At about the same time both managers walked in to check up on us and right when they walked up the guest threatened to "kill me" if I didn't get his package right now. Well, my eyes got big becuase I couldnt believe what this guy had just said...plus he must have been very brave since I towered over him. He was like 5'6" and I'm 6'2". I was literally waiting for him to jump the counter so I can tackle him to the ground but my managers stepped in and offered to complimentary ship his packages to his home. That made me so irrate!! Not only did the guy get free shipping but he also got a bunch of free stuff from the Newsstand plus we returned all of his money from his purchases that day! Oh well, anything to make the guests happy huh? Thats the Disney way!

Hm. Hit by a guest?

I find this one funny. When I used to work over at the Outpost at the Studios, I wore my Indiana Fedora and carried the pistol we sold on my belt. Well. I had this one apparent "Nut of Indiana Jones Fan" come in a start complaining about the show and how some of the scenes were done and griped about how they were done in the movie (Even then he was totally wrong) and about a few other things. I corrected him on every detail (Because I had that kind of time on my hands). Well he got pissed an swung at me (Can we say anger issues). Well, I simply ducked, came back up and at the same time pulled the pistol out (Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I removed that orange cap on the tip). Yeah needless to say he ran out the door.

In a reverse situation
Recently over at Fantasmic! (Our ultra kick ass version :roll :) a guest got pissed because he had the dinner package and he had to stand (Because management and their infinate wisdom at the resturants over booked...we can hold about 1150 comfortably). Well he got pissed and started yelling at my friend on the raido about it (At this point, the dinner package had gone to hell for a seven day vacation). Well my friend got a little hotheaded and got into a fight with the guest. Not exactly sure what all went on but that's what I got.

A good photograph means knowing where to stand

and here i was thinkin i had it bad... the other day i was unloading guests at new orleans station, and at new orleansa it's front conductor's job to arrange seating for ADA (wheelchair) geusts, so i go throught the whole walk on or ramp it speal, no ramp at main street blah blah blah.. so i start walking the group up the exit ramp, some 7 year old kid, not watching, comes tearing down the ramp and head first into my stomach :!: . At this time, i'm thinking, crap some guy punched me, and i'm reaching for the orange button, but instead wind up saying, whoa, there watch it there little guy followed by a umpf kinda groan, and then, please don't run in the park. and all his friggin mom says, is watch where ur going honey, while i'm haunched over the rail with and ecv chomping at the bit to get on, right at my heels. Luckily i've been in a few mosh pits, and been pretty well banged up in my lifetime, and i was able to recover quickly, but for a moment i thought i was going to have to call in a bump, and make a CFA run. friggin kid, i shoulda code v'ed all over him! :D

Hell yea i have!!!!!!!! Like 2 months ago, i was working parade :x and we were told to let the guest know that they shouldn't have there strollers up so that the guest behind them can be able to see, well anyhoo.....I asked this lady several times to put her stroller down, she didnt. after about the 4th time, she got really pissed and said, "look Bitch if you want my stroller to be put down , do it your self!" and well she through the stroller at me hitting me in the legs  . Security came and took her and her 9 kids away, and yes they insisted that i wouldn't press charges.......I now regret not doing so!!! [/i]

Always press charges for even the smallest things to show the guests that we are people too and they can't treat us like trash. Don't let management pressure you out of it. Its your discision and yours alone.
