Hey! I was picked for that party too. Another host was emailed the list of stuff: DCL beach towels, Disney dollars, $50 on board credit vouchers, plushies, plus a bunch more....AND they are giving away 2 four nighters, hosts and guests eligible to win! :D:Whazzup wrote:I doubt they'll throw in a free cruise, and I'm not sure what Disney is sending for the goody bags, but I've got some little Disney things to use as prizes for the games. I might even give away a bottle of Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum as a door prize! So hop on a plane, Pirate, and we'll see you on the 26th. :D:

At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.
Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

OOOH!! How did the host get that information? I've been emailiing the DCL House Party support center, asking about what kind of goodies will be in the goody bags so I'll know what kinds of door prizes I should purchase, and they couldn't tell me a thing, other than some of the downloads should be available this week or next week at the Housepart.com web site.StephM wrote:Hey! So, what's the source of that list you mentioned? Would you please ask the other host about it??
And Congratulations for being selected to host a party! I think it will be great fun. Especially if we could win a 4-day cruise!! :D:

The horse's water tub (old bathtub) had a thick layer of ice on it this morning . Even the bucket of water I had tucked into a corner of her stall was iced over. We wrapped the outdoor pipes so no problem there.Shorty82 wrote:It got so cold last night the backflow preventer on my store's water main burst. As we still had water we didn't notice until I headed next door to get some lunch a little after 3 this afternoon and saw it squirting water. I turned off the water before leaving work this evening so it wouldn't continue being wasted. The store manager is going to have call a plumber in the morning to get it fixed. The annoying thing is that the backflow burst and had to be replaced less than a year ago.
Yesterday we had a rush on antifreeze. People getting their cars ready for the cold snap bought up pretty much all of it. We ran completely out of our full strength store-brand (Valucraft) and nearly so on full strength Peak. We have some Prestone full strength left but not much. We got some Peak in from our hub store today but most of it went fast. We have plenty of 50/50 antifreeze but the majority of customers want the full strength.
Hope you get your office water fixed soon. My husband's nephew works for Rooter1 Plumbing on Bauer Road, if you want to give your boss the phone number. He's not a plumber but he schedules the calls and does all the computer work. Phone # 492-4000. They've been in business a long time but recently changed the company name with new owners.

I will have to tell Donnie tomorrow about the antifreeze thing Shorty. He will get a kick out of it. He says that he can always tell what the weather is going to be around here without looking at the forecast himself by what ppl are buying at Advance. Batteries, antifreeze ---cold, snow .....wipers--rain, etc. LOL
Never fun to have pipes freeze. Our kitchen under sink pipes had the problem a lot last year even with the heat tape on the basement connections. The ones under the sink are pretty much just a piece of plywood away from the outside. (idiots obviously didnt know what they were doing when they decided to remove a window and put in a sink and not insulate better) We covered them with the foam toobies, like I used for my spider decs at halloween and havent had a problem at all. I will prob leave the faucet drip a bit tonite since it is supposed to drop to 10* BRRRRRR!

Good night. At first, I thought your post said you had to go 40 times!! but realized it didn't say 40 PP! even when drinking a lot of beer, or wine, or water at WDW......vixen101485 wrote:I am cold, I am tired and I have to pee. In this part of Florida, yes. It gets down to or below freezing a few times every year. Assuming the weather bar I have for Firefox is accurate (uses AccuWeather I believe), it is 37 degrees F right now. It is almost 9 am and the temperature is barely above freezing. This is part of the reason I want to move to the Orlando area, it gets to cold for me around here.hobie16 wrote:In Florida?!?! Wow!
Thanks but I'm sure he knows a plumber, I'm betting he has the number of the one we used last year handy. The fun part will be getting corporate approval. Last year he was given the run-around every which way trying to get permission to call in a plumber. Hopefully they won't give him the run-around this time.Whazzup wrote:The horse's water tub (old bathtub) had a thick layer of ice on it this morning . I know what he's saying! Except for the snow part, of course. It might get cold around here but not cold enough to snow normally, or at least for the snow to not melt as soon as it hits the ground.vixen101485 wrote:I will have to tell Donnie tomorrow about the antifreeze thing Shorty. A faucet should have been left dripping at the store the other night, if it had been I'm betting our pipe wouldn't have froze. The pipe should be insulated but it's not. The problem is that our backflow preventer is above ground. The ground helps insulate the underground connections but ours is exposed to the weather directly.Never fun to have pipes freeze. ... Somewhere I have pics of me as a child standing on the beach in Panama City Fla and its snowing. Of course Im a kid so Im trying to catch the flakes with my mouth. Last year we were down at my dads Condo (Westgate ugh) the week of Christmas and low and behold cold rain. At least we did better than Daytona beach and their Xmas day twisters. Its cold here but at least we don't get winter twisters

I do remember a time years ago when I was a little kid the snow stuck around in the north part of the county. I remember our aunt taking my brother and me to an old school up there so we could all play in the snow.Planner wrote:Somewhere I have pics of me as a child standing on the beach in Panama City Fla and its snowing.
