My mom showed it to me first and dragged me over ("I would never know this stuff, but you would. Come here and answer a question!") If you answer the question on the chalkboard correctly, they give you a small prize. When I was there last, they were giving away eye patches with skulls and crossbones on them.

The question that day was "Who were the two captains of The Empress?" My answer was "Sao Feng and Orlando Bloom's girlfriend!" They said I was close enough. :D: Maybe the group we'll be with in March can win some extra little things for you by answering some questions, too!

Note: she's only Orlando Bloom's girlfriend because she hasn't met me yet... Well, that, and he's an elven pirate...that's kinda hard to beat.
I didn't know they did that, we'll have to steer the grandkids towrd that next time we take them!! Of course the free stuff, to them, is twice as valuable as anything we buy them!!

Yeah, my mom actually said they did that at a lot of the gift shops, but I never saw any others aside from that one... Something to keep an eye out for, though. <rimshot> :p:

LOL..... We really need that rimshot smiley. LOL

Oh that would be fun, everyone gets together and annoys the CM running the game thing all at the same time. Of course we would have to push small children out of the way so we get the first turn. Tho I would suck at POTC movie trivia. I have seen the 1st one a few times but only the 2nd once and never the 3rd. Now the attraction trivia I would be much better on.

Thank you ZAZZZZUUUUUUUU! I would break out the bowing down smiley but I am lazy and dont feel like looking for it in the list.

Party update.....I told my mother (who btw was not actually invited to the party in the first place--kid friends only) that I was postponing the party till May when the weather (hopefully--we had snow the middle of it last year) breaks. Donnie and Meghyn attend the informal services at the Salvation Army across the street from us and they do a lunch thing every week in between for the very small congregation they have, anywaaaaayyyyy...... I asked if that on the Sunday after her B-day (1 day off) if it would be OK to bring over a cake for the dessert to celebrate. I feel awful that the poor kid cant have a party closer to her actual b-day. Stupid winter.

My parents wanted to make the 2 hour drive up this Sunday (w/ a 2 day notice...no) and I told my mom just hold off till next week cause we already have plans for this Sunday. She was grousing non-stop because she wasnt invited to the originally planned party. (my mother puts Churchy's to shame at times) So we are celebrating the kids birthday ONLY 1 DAY OFF, and she does this guilt thing..."she is not going to know when her birthday is, blah blah blah" What on earth does she want me to do? Good Lord one day is not that big a deal, like she "always" had mine on the exact day....YEESH.
"Mother if you dont want to come up then fine deal with it or pay for the full blown party for her at the end of this month, what part of we can just not afford it right now do you not understand?" this is after I already told her we cant. OMG she is driving me nuts over this.

I also had to tell her to pretty much keep her opinions to herself about peoples looks, manners, etc. (a few of the folk that come there are what you would call rednecks bigtime) My mother has a tendency to speak before she thinks and I keep telling her one day someone is gonna haul off and slap her to the ground for some of her comments about their appearance. Even my dad tells her to shut up.

On a good note, the Majors at the SA said that would be fine and they even have some helium that I can use to blow up balloons with and I can put up some streamers or whatever while the others are in the morning service.

I feel better now.
Anyone want a slightly used mother?

I really liked it when I lived in TX. many many miles away with no phone. :D: I almost went crazy living with her again for 2 months when I needed to get back on my feet at one point. Next time I will go live at the train station. Much less stressful being homeless.

I am already planning more stuff for May, even if it rains, we can still do things for the party. I have a decent sized front porch that can fit 15 ppl or so (doesnt necessarily mean it can hold that many--our house is around 100 years old...lol) Or I can borrow someone's canopy tent. I still have to figure out what to do for a fence so the little darlings dont drown in the creek. I wasnt planning on putting a good one up till next year. I guess I can rig up something temporary ...but with what cheap materials . Cant put in posts as the ground is too hard. Maybe the little white wire ones I use for my graveyard. HMMMM...wonder if they will go in just far enuf to hold for the day? Think the kids would actually pay attention to something only 18" off the ground? Maybe wind streamers and balloons thru it.???????
