A little too much caffeine this morning? :D:
We've got the same types in our neighborhood. They're called crimeshare sales people.

Re: Countdown to New Year
I am not the least bit interested in moving to Colorado, and don't have the money, and I don't want such a huge house unless I am going to rent out a bunch of rooms.
Otherwise I might consider.
Please read the proper sarcasm into that line, I am not so dense to believe there are no timeshares in HI (especially when my parents own about five there. They bought resales before resales existed!).

What? They have timeshares in Hawaii? No! Hawaiian Timeshare... just doesn't roll off the tongue.hobie16 wrote:We've got the same types in our neighborhood. They're called crimeshare sales people.

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

Re: Countdown to New Year
Based on what's happening within a mile of where I live, I have to believe timeshares will rule the world soon. The Marriott has gone 100%. The Hyatt next to them will start their tower this year. Westin built one at the bottom of our hill two years ago. It was so successful they finished a second building late last year. Up the beach from the Westin another humongo one is about half finished with another site just starting to be cleared between them.Big Wallaby wrote:What? They have timeshares in Hawaii? No! Embassy Suites converted a couple of years ago. I just wish they'd cahnge the paint scheme from PINK.
Then there's the residences. The Ritz converted one wing. The Bay Hotel was torn down to put them in.
The county finally figured out they were losing out on a huge amount of occupancy taxes so they came up with a new property tax classification. The timeshares and residences are taxed at an ungodly rate compared to all other classifications. A week doesn't go by without some Mainlander writing a letter to the local paper complaining about being screwed out of some large. Dude, try living here and paying the 35% island tax every time you buy food, gas, etc. We now pay $8.00 for a gallon of milk.

Re: Countdown to New Year
The fireworks were canceled on New Years' Eve and they got canceled really early around 7:30. From what I observed, though, the crowd didn't seem to care, of course I was at the party at Small World.
We did however find an unattended bag, I talked to security later and it apparently had a laptop and porn in it, which I just thought was funny.

Re: Countdown to New Year
You should teach the neighbor the meaning of Gravity, like...balloons with paint..err water...or..other subastances.susislicker wrote:We have basically the same problem here. Fireworks in Colorado=illegal, fireworks in Wyoming=legal. You wanna know how many rednecks here go to Wyoming to get their armaments. All of em. Especially the jag that lives right below us at the bottom of our property and he looooooooves to shoot those sky fireworks right over the top of our house. Every friggen 4th of July and New years, but interestingly enough they were not out this year. It was -4 and I think they were either partying somewhere else this year or too damn cold to shoot the suckers off. It was peceful for once. There are so many really rich entitled people in this neighborhood that have lots of expendable income and almost all of em shoot of fireworks shows over the neighborhood every Fourth of July. We are in the wrong neighborhood. We really thought that these would be people with money who had some sense and it was a nice quiet neighborhood. Not a chance. A bunch of nouveau riche who want to show off their nouveau richeness with all the toys, fireworks, ATVs, scooters and all the Hummers on the car lot! What a joke. We GOT to get out of here. I am going insane with the mentality of the neighborhood. Even the jag next door who is a lawyer and a HOA Board member shot off sky fireworks on the fourth last year right out in front of all our house. What a doofus. He does it this year, I am calling the cops and voting to have him removed from the Board for breaking the law and the HOA rules. I am surrounded by idiots! I HAVE to move to Florida! PLease God, let someone buy my house soon!!!!!!
I hate it here. This friggen mansion is a prison. I want to be freeeeeeeee! We are definitely DOWNSIZING and getting rif of most of our stuff when we move. Not the Disney stuff, the other stuff. LOL! I would never get rid of my humongus Disney Memorabilia collection. Our boxes should be arriving today from DL! We spent way too much money again this trip, thousands on lots and lots of Disney swag and Christmas presents for the family! Lots and lotds of stuff, pins, plushies, jewelry, collectible figurines and cool Disneyana brionze staues and even a Disneyland Hotel bedspread! They finally had enough extras to sell us one. I am so happy about that! My favorite! I will take a pic of it and post!~ I have wanted one of those bedspreads forever. It has Disney scenes on it. Very cool. It will make me think I am in the Hotel, while never leaving home. I will decorate my room just like the DL Hotel rooms. That's what I'll do. Then I can live Disney everyday! YAY! And I will go to Wyoming and buy sky rockets and have a Disneyland type fireworks show over my house! That will teach those rednecks who has better fireworks and that they need to work harder to keep up with the Joneses! Mwahahaha! ;) Just kidding of course!

Re: Countdown to New Year
I am suprised that DL dosn't develop "built in" fireworks from lights as an alternative in case of high winds. a static light show like the parade of lights!lady ulrike wrote:The fireworks were canceled on New Years' Eve and they got canceled really early around 7:30. Pictures of Gidget
I had a PhotoBucket account, so here's the first picture - Gidget in her pasture, accompanied by her bird buddy who likes to hang around and catch the bugs she stirs up while grazing.

Now you've done it. I have to share the rest of my critter pictures. Is this a Hidden Mickey? Looks more like Roger Rabbit.
