Re: No Leaning on the Rails, For Goodness's Sake
I, too, have a lead named Tammy who seems really cool. So I might have to put an asterisk after every mentioning of a Tammy* and a footnote at the bottom:
*This is not in any reference to the lead at KSR by the same name, as I do, in fact, think she's pretty cool (and she's from my home state!).

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

Interestingly, people named Tammy seem to have a knack for making it to middle-management. I work with a woman named Tammy who is in charge of Tier 1 help desk (phone answerers). She's not really *my* lead as I'm not tier 1, but she's a boss. And she's cool as hell too. I'm kinda the bane of her existence, but I keep her laughing and we have fun at work.Big Wallaby wrote:I, too, have a lead named Tammy who seems really cool...
At the same time, I could give a rodent's patootie about the potential for offending anyone. If people want to be offended over generic name use, good for them. Clearly they don't understand the point of these forums...brevity is the soul of wit [Shakespeare] and generic names help out with that.
Except Shorty. I hope he's offended. This entire post is meant to offend him! ;)
Yo, it's one universal law but two sides to every story
Three strikes and you be in for life, manditory
Four MC's murdered in the last four years
I ain't tryin to be the fifth one, the millenium is here.

She is. And her brother too.
(side note: here on this coast, we're coordinators, not leads ... same basic concept though)

HMMMM....an odd, easily remembered name that wont offend someone........???????????????? Donnie suggested BETTY or I have a better one Beatrice. Please dont tell me you all know someone named that. I suggest this in "honor" of my mother since she is the epitome of a female SG.

Fred is the pond scum name used by bicyclists as in, "What a Fred!"

Bessie-May or Betsy tends to be my female equivalent personally. Tammy definitely has quite a ring though, I think it just might slip into general use when it comes training time again.

Tammy is perfect.
My DW has a sister named Tammy and she is the most perfect ungrateful SG that you will ever maat. We call her the "anti tam".
In fact, we have a picture of all of DW's siblings and there is a postit note over her picture and it's been there for years.

I wish I could do that with my mother-in-law. :D:Cranbiz wrote:In fact, we have a picture of all of DW's siblings and there is a postit note over her picture and it's been there for years.
